Has been adopted Posting for another rescue. Nate... Male, neutered 37 lbs DOB February 2018 Nate is a fun, playful, and cuddly boy who oozes personality and happiness. He has super soft fur and loves belly and neck rubs. He is shy at first and takes a bit of time before he warms up to someone, and he tends to like females humans sooner than male humans. Once Nate does feel safe with you, he is very affectionate and happy to see you. He is quite strong willed and can be energetic think sudden leaps and spins in the air which are fun and funny but can also be surprising. Just as quickly, he becomes a cuddly couch potato. Nate has been in foster with a family very experienced in helping bring out the best in adult dogs. They say he is quite strong willed but very good at listening and has learned sit, down, and off in a short time. He is learning leash manners and is getting better, but you need to have a firm grip on him: he can jolt suddenly, and you have to be ready. He is quite good in his crate and settles down quickly, but he will whine if he knows his people are up and about and he is stuck in his crate. Nate is a bit too rambunctious for an apartment, but a spacious ground floor unit with fast outdoor access or a separate entrance to the outdoors might work. Better yet, he would like a house with a securely fenced yard. At first, Nate isn’t in love with being outdoors (he just wants to do his busines and come back in), but he is getting more comfortable with being outdoors and he loves the balcony / deck at his foster home. His foster family uses a horse lunge lead, so he can safely run around the yard, while giving his human some control for training. You have to be fully aware of what he is doing outside, because he can suddenly bolt in any direction, he runs really fast, and he is a good jumper. Nate is not a downtown city boy: lots of cars and people stress him out. He prefers quiet neighbourhoods or a more rural area. The best home for this sweet boy would be one with no cats, with children over 8 (he can knock the younger ones over), and where he is the only dog. He might do okay with another dog in the home (properly introduced), but he may try to be top dog and that can lead to some conflicts. He will do better with more training and socialization.

Introducing Gigi(dashounds 13 years old) and Trixie (wired hair terrier 11 years old . They just arrived from Texas on Friday evening . Gigi is on meds for Cushing's and for bladder issues but other then that she is doing amazing . Loves to sit on her back legs for belly rubs. Trixie is on meds for arthritis and again she is doing amazing and loves to give you kisses.... Both girls are looking for there further home together . These 2 ladies are amazing, house broken and crate trained. When we were contacted by the shelter with this horrible story about there mom passing and the family didn’t want them and they were going to shoot them . We Ozzie To The Rescue Canada wouldn’t let that happen to these sweet sweet ladies.
