Eileen and Tom had me do some valentines photos for them out at their beautiful place. They had a few props of their own as well as some valentines props of mine. Even their fur babies joined in on the action on this beautiful day we had here in Hay River, it made a great day of outdoor photos. This is my last portrait photo shoot post of the year and I thought I'd end it with this stunning photo shoot I did with Andrea. We went on a nature trail and found a nice spot. Andrea wore a beautiful coat made by Victoria's Arctic Fashion, that was gifted from her mother and her kamiks that were made in Pangnirtung, NU were also a gift from a friend. With the snow covered trees, winter northern scenery and a fantastic model wearing stunning fashion these photos all turned out perfect. Thank you Andrea for doing this shoot, wishing you all the very best in the new year! December 24th, 2020 was the warmest Christmas eve I have seen in Hay River at -3, it was also perfect weather for an outdoor wedding and that's just what Jessica and David did. They had asked me to do their wedding photos and I was a bit iffy about the outdoor part just because it is normally -25 or colder at that time of year lol but it turned out to be incredibly warm out. They both looked fantastic, bride had on a beautiful fur shawl to match her dress, and they chose a beautiful outdoor northern scenery which made the photos a unique type of shoot that I haven't done until this day. Congratulations to you both Jessica and David, the day couldn't have been more perfect . Thank you for having me to do your photos, it was an honor to be at your wedding.

Calah and Jamie asked me to do some photos of their family, so we went out trekked into the at the time deep snow and got some images. It was a tab bit chilly that day but the sun was in the perfect spot for great lighting. Thank you Calah and Jamie for having me to do your family photos :)

Hay River Campground Christmas 2020 Last night was the opening of the Hay River Campground Christmas lights display. What an amazing drive about, with 24 lots lit up you and your family or friends can enjoy this amazing display from 6pm to 10pm for this weekend. Thank you to NWT Parks for having me to do the photos and to the volunteers who put this incredible idea together for everyone to enjoy.

Christmas themed photo-shoot with Dawson. For this photo-shoot we used Christmas lights from a tree and a ring light to illuminate her as well as a few other Christmas props. Merry Christmas Dawson to you and your family and a Happy New Year!

Here are a couple of shots I took last night while out at Alexandra Falls. The moon light was very bright, but look at the water still flowing strong. Normally it is nearly froze up this time of the year.

This is an album of an indoor photoshoot I did with Rochelle, I asked her if she'd be interested in doing a bit of modeling for an indoor studio shoot as I wanted to keep up practice with my lighting and kit. Rochelle was an excellent choice as she brought a great selection of wardrobe and help from her mother Lisa who assisted with her fashion choices and helped me as well. In this photoshoot I was looking to try different lighting positions as well as a ring light. I enjo...yed being able to work indoors and with my lighting kit, always fun to learn about the equipment you have to work with. Thank you Rochelle for modeling, you really did an excellent job, thank you to your mom Lisa for the help as well. i look forward to our next shoot! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Last night the skies were clear and the northern lights were visible :)

KFN has a program running out at the Swan Lake Camp, the program is to help families participate in a fall hunt harvest. Elders and teachers are out there to demonstrate moose hide scratching, dry meat making, hunting, story telling and many other things. Today elder Elaine Salopree showed how she makes dry meat, there was a few of us that got to try it out as she watched and coached us through it. Then the meat was hung inside of the tipi to be smoked, after that it will be... hung to dry. (yum) Cathy Mouse talked about the moose hide she and her son were stretching and what can be made with it. One of the things she mentioned was traditional drums. Roy Fabian told stories in one of the canvas tents, Roy has many stories that I enjoy listening to, so whenever I hear hes telling one I gotta get in to listen. (I was too into the stories to take a photo) For lunch we had fish cooked on the open fire (so good) All in all it was a great day spent on the land at the camp and I am hoping to get out again before the camp is over. Michelle was the last volunteer model to model a pair of Lacey's earrings. She chose to wear a nice colorful set of hoop earrings for her photos, then did a few photos of herself and with her daughter. Thank you Michelle for your help with the photos. Sherri was another volunteer to help model some of Lacey's earrings. We chose a spot by the river and I used a flash. She also had portraits done as a thank you for the help with the photos and displaying Lacey's earrings. Dawson was another volunteer model to help out with my collaboration, I was looking to models in various age groups to help and one of the youngest. She wore a pair of earrings made by Lacey Miersch from Fort Resolution who I did the collaboration with. Then as a thank you to Dawson I did a photo session with her just after her poses with the earrings. I use a single off camera flash with a softbox on one of the nature trails with all the beautiful colors of fall. Dawson did a wonderful job modeling, thank you Dawson for your help.
