We're back to doing our Cavity Free Draws! Congratulations to our November winner, Simon L with a PS4! And our December winner, Clinton T, also with a PS4. Way to go guys!
What a joy it was to be able to sponsor 6 kids this year through Christmas Gifts for Kids in Care (FSJ). A big thank you to Brandi Kennedy for her continued efforts in organizing this project! Today is also our last day in the office before Christmas! We will be closed from December 24th until January 3rd. We will be open for regular business hours January 4th!
To all those who gave their tomorrow so we could have today, we honour you. Thank you.
Wishing all you ghouls and goblins out there a fun and safe Halloween!
Thank you for voting us Best of the Best! We wouldn't be the best without the best patients. *Disclaimer: this photo was taken from a 2metre distance.
Join in for some Halloween fun! Our associate office, Apex Dental, is sponsoring the Spookiest House Contest on Sum FM!

To all our patients: We are still working diligently to reschedule any cancelled appointments, however, if you had an appointment booked between March 16 and July 31 and have not yet heard from us, please call us to reschedule. Your appointments will be prioritized. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this time as we all navigate Covid-19.
We appreciate our front line workers! You all do look great in Accent Dental scrubs. :)

Accent Dental is now open on a LIMITED BASIS. We are currently calling to reschedule any appointments that were cancelled due to COVID closures. For your safety, we are taking extra precautions. Please take the time to read through our new safety plan, which is attached. ... We will be screening ALL patients. When you arrive, you will be required to wear a mask and have your temperature taken. Waiting room capacity has been reduced, and as such, the doors will remain locked except for patients with appointments. If you are arriving for an appointment, we ask that you come on your own unless accompanying a minor child. Should you need to come in for any other reason, we do ask that you call ahead to let us know. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this time.

Accent Dental would like to remind our patients that we are still closed - and will be closed until further notice. If you had an appointment booked during this time and have not received a call, please assume it has been cancelled. We are advising our patients to call to reschedule any appointments when the Pandemic has been lifted. *We remain available for limited emergency services only.* Thank you all for your patience and we hope to see everyone soon.
As social isolation and being confined begins to take it's toll, let's not forget that we are the lucky ones! Our doctors, nurses, ER and medical staff are doing heroic work on the front lines and need our support. These heroes are now critically low on PPE and are battling to keep us healthy. Accent Dental has decided to step up and donate the majority of our N95 masks, hand sanitizers and safety goggles. Stay safe and a big thank you to everyone doing their part to help flatten the curve.
*UPDATE COVID 19* To our Accent Dental family: We know that many of you are anxiously waiting for an update on our staff. Good news! Our dentists have completed their self isolation and are all feeling well and have not developed any symptoms. Please note that in compliance with the current State of Emergency in BC, our office will remain closed. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Stay safe and we hope to see you soon!
The College of Dental Surgeons has just made available a FAQs page in regards to the COVID 19 Virus. It is not necessary to self isolate if you were seen by a dentist that was at the conference. For details please visit website on the link below. https://www.cdsbc.org/Pages/covid-19-faq.aspx
***COVID 19 UPDATE*** To all our patients: We have heard your concerns and would like to take a moment to address your questions. 1. ALL attendees (approx. 15,000) of the Pacific Dental Conference were told on the morning of March 16, 2020 to go into self-isolation until March 22, 2020. Futhermore, the College of Dental Surgeons of BC is strongly recommending suspending all non-essential and elective dental treatment and we are complying until further notice. 2. NONE of o...ur dentists are currently sick or have developed any symptoms. They are self-isolating as a precaution on the advice of the health authorities and the College of Dental Surgeons. 3. Yes, if any dentist does present with symptoms we will let you know. We will update you as we receive updates 4. Currently there is NO indication that any patients that were seen between March 9 - 16 require to self-isolate. 5. For those requiring immediate or emergency services only, we hope to be available for you after March 22nd. Please PM us if you have any questions. 6. Yes, most offices in town are closed. If you need to see a dentist immediately, Dr. Shi at Alaska Avenue did not attend the Conference and is available for patients. 7. ***UPDATE*** Please note our office has been following Vancouver Coastal Health advice that was released to us on March 12th, 2020 (the day all attendees were notified). We were informed they did a risk assessment and they determined the risk to be low at the time and advised all attendees to self monitor. Those with questions called 811 and followed the advice given. We were NOT given advance notice about the announcement today and did not learn of the requirement to go in...to immediate self isolation for all attendees (until March 22nd 2020) until the Provincial Health Officer announced it on the news this morning. We ceased all treatment immediately. There is NO requirement patients that were seen last week will require self isolation. We realized this has caused a lot of anxiety and frustration to the general public and will update as more information becomes available. **NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE** All attendees (15,000) of the Pacific Dental Conference have been advised by the Minister of Health that if they attended the Pacific Dental Conference on March 7, 2020 they are to immediately self-isolate until March 21, 2020. We had 6 employees, including all dentists, attend the conference. Therefore, we are closing our doors and all further appointments will be cancelled until further notice. We appreciate your patience with us and hope to be back serving the general public as soon as we are able to. Dr. Henry Ma also attended the Dental Conference last week and is unable to perform any emergency dental treatment until at least March 21, 2020. If you are experiencing pain between now and March 21, 2020 please call Dr. Ma at 1-778-836-5928 for further direction or go directly to the emergency room.
It's a little late... but Congrats to Ryan Fraser and family for winning the Christmas Decorating Contest and grand prize of $1000!
So it's been a little while since we've posted our Cavity Free Draw Winners. Congratulations to the following kiddos: Danny S - Ipad Addison T - Friends Lego Jack S - Ipad... Claire G - Ipad Jackson H - Xbox One Max K - Nintendo Switch Zoe M - Friends Lego And, as always.... keep brushing! ;)
A little dental humour to brighten your day... ;) Remember, flossing is important! Cleaning between teeth removes plaque that can lead to cavities or gum disease from areas where a toothbrush can't reach. Happy flossing!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our Accent Dental team! Our office will be closed for holidays from Dec. 21st - Jan. 5th. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, call us on Dec 27th for emergency appointments only.
This year for Christmas we at Accent Dental have decided to sponsor a group of foster children. Thank you to Brandi Kennedy and Christmas Gifts for Kids in Care (FSJ) for all your hard work in organizing this and making sure that all kids are remembered at Christmas! A big thank you to all the staff at Accent Dental that contributed to making this a success! I can't remember that last time we've had this much enthusiasm at the office.
Attention parents! Accent Dental is ready for you! Bring your little trick or treaters by to show off their costumes and we'll have a treat ready for them. We're open until 6 pm. See you then! And Happy Halloween!
Do we have the greatest patients or what?? Thank you DeAnne Lythall for this amazing sculpture of Dr. Ma. Accurate right down to the green scrubs!
Which do you do first in the morning? Brush your teeth or eat breakfast? Like if you eat first, comment if you brush first!
Congratulations to Hailey I., our March Cavity Free Draw Winner! This lucky girl won a $500 gift card to Walmart. Happy spending!
This year Dr. Ma again decided to support the Fort St. John Hospital with a donation that will help purchase surgical dental equipment for the Fort St. John Hospital Operating Room.
