9 years ago today we presented our 7th annual Old School Boxing Day Blowout at Footwork. As per usual we assembled a line up stacked with Toronto legends that shaped the scene at home and beyond. On this night we managed to coax out of retirement, one half of the legendary Stickmen. For those that were around in the 90’s the stickmen were a legendary duo from Toronto that received international acclaim for their productions. They were also behind the internationally acclaimed... Stickman Records, Aquarius Records and Placebo Recordings. The once prolific labels are responsible for countless house music anthems. Club was at capacity by 11:30 Looking at this line up all these years later we’re still excited by it. All of these DJs were a huge influence on us during the 90’s. This one goes back to 2008 when we presented @donaldglaude again at our annual old school Boxing Day blowout. Worth noting that Donald was also celebrating his Bday with us! Also on the bill was DJ Dogwhistle aka CHRIS SHEPPARD (yes, THAT Chris Sheppard), the legendary Canadian Dj behind BKS, Love Inc and countless mix compilations including Pirate Radio Sessions. We managed to get Chris to come out of retirement for this special event. By this year the hype for these event...s was huge and we always hit capacity well before midnight.
