Today the province announced some new restrictions. During this lockdown our office will remain OPEN. As Regulated Health Professionals we will be allowed to continue to work. All protocols already in place will continue, like screening questions, wearing masks, and hand sanitizing. *Please note: the office will be closed for Christmas holidays Dec 24-Jan 4, but we WILL BE OPEN in January for your healthcare needs.

We've been getting some questions about what happens if Halton goes into lockdown, and what that would mean for our office. According to our associations, and if we look at what's happening in Toronto and Peel regions our office would remain OPEN. We would continue to be able to provide footcare and massage therapy because we are Regulated Health Professionals. If you are not comfortable coming into the office for an appointment though, we completely understand and are happy to postpone your visit until you feel more comfortable doing so. Your health and wellbeing is out top concern! See below an article from the Toronto Star, Monday Nov 23 where the Ministry of health confirmed Regulated Health Professionals are able to operate.

Lest we forget. We may not be able to gather together like in years past, but that makes it all the more important that we take time today to remember the great sacrifices that were made for us. You can watch today's ceremony via livestream with Acton UP starting at 10:30am.

We will certainly miss seeing all the cute little ones in their costumes in person this year, but the BIA has come up with a great alternative which actually allows everyone to participate! Submit your photos today :)

By now most of you have heard that the Ontario government has given the go-ahead for health care providers to begin re-opening. We thank you for your patience over the last few months, but we ask that your patience please continue. The go-ahead provided does not mean we resume our practice as we had it prior to the shutdown. Our governing bodies have many guidelines that we must adhere to. This will take us time to be able to implement new policies and procedures properly. T...he safety of our patients is important and as such we must have necessary safety precautions and measures in place before some treatment can resume. Some of this involves additional training, securing proper PPE, creating new office policies, revising office spaces, and purchasing new equipment. For now the Massage Clinic remains closed as we prepare. When it re-opens it will be for Essential treatment only as we begin a gradual re-open. The College of Massage Therapists have several guidelines, and screening processes. We will update you on what is required when we start to book patients. The Foot Clinic is open for Essential care only. Those who had an appointment prior to the shutdown will be called. There is a large backlog of patients to work through so please be patient. We have new Infection prevention protocols to adhere to, as well as deep cleaning that needs to be done, so more time is needed between patients. All patients who enter the clinic must wear a mask. There are no walk-ins allowed, please do not enter the clinic unless you have an appointment. We look forward to seeing you as we are able. If you have questions, please ask and we will do our best to answer.

We want to say Thank-you to all of those essential services and businesses that have kept working during these last several weeks. You have kept us fed, kept us safe, kept us healthy, even kept us entertained over the last little while. It has been inspiring to see businesses adapt to meet the needs of this community. We are very proud to live and work in Acton. The health and safety of all our patients is our top priority. Given that the Covid-19 journey is ever changing, we... will do our best to keep you informed of when we can re-open based on the Ministry of Health, as well as our Associations and Colleges guidelines. As of right now, we remain closed. If you think you are having a foot emergency, please call the office and leave a message and we will be in contact with you to see if we can help. In the coming weeks we will be preparing for our return. The office will look a little different when you come in next time. Some processes in how we do our treatments may change. We have always followed strict infection control protocols and we will be implementing additional measures according to Ministry guidelines which you will see on future visits. Our main concern is your health and safety. We wish to thank you for your patience during this difficult time. For now, until we can meet again, please stay home and stay well.

A quick update from us: We miss seeing you all!! The office is currently closed. We will let you know as soon as we have information as to when we can re-open. Currently we take directions from the Ministry of Health, the College of Chiropodists of Ontario, and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Only once those governing bodies deem it safe for us to return can we re-open. We are continuing to check our office messages frequently so please leave us a message if you... need to. We are not currently rescheduling appointments until such time as we have a start date. If you have a current appointment you will be notified of its cancellation and we will contact you once we are back to rebook something for you. If you think you are having a foot emergency leave your name and number and someone will be in touch with you. Please be advised that no home visits can be provided at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are very much looking forward to when we can return to help you with all your healthcare needs. Until that time please be well, stay safe, and take good care.

In response to concerns around COVID-19, we would like you to be aware and informed of precautions we take in our office. As regulated health professionals we already have high standards of practice that we are required to do - things like sterilizing instruments, disinfecting surfaces, and hand-washing after each patient. These are things we already do daily, and rest assured we will continue to do them diligently. In addition we are taking extra precautions, making sure to... disinfect things like doorknobs, light switches, and counter tops. We see patients in our office that are considered higher risk - mainly a senior population. If you or a family member has recently returned from travel, we ask that you please avoid coming in to the office for a minimum 14 days. If you are feeling unwell, we will also ask that you stay at home. Please note, the cancellation policy will be flexible if you need to cancel your appointment because of this. We understand things may change quickly and the safety, and health of our patients is our main concern. The office is open this week for scheduled Massage appointments, the Foot Clinic is closed for this week as Deanna is out of the office, but will re-open Mon March 23. If you need to change or cancel an appointment please call the office. Here's some good information in the video below. Let's all take a breath, relax, wash our hands, and do our part!
