Montana based motor carrier companies were found in Numerous Violations of DOT safety regulation during investigation conducted by the Montana Department of Transportation and FMCSA, Including - Failure to have preventive maintenance policy. - Failure to access driver qualification and hire qualified drive...rs. - Failure to Implement DOT drug and alcohol testing program. - Failure to ensure Compliance with Hours Of service. FMCSA order states, unacceptable safety compliance and significantly increase the likelihood of serious injury or death if not discontinued immediately. Tabner/Vallise Automotive Group/Central Logistics, Inc may face civil penalties of: - Up to $27,813 for each violation of Out of Service Order - Not less than $11,125 for providing transportation requiring federal operating authority registration. - Up to $15,691 for operating a commercial vehicle in interstate commerce without necessary USDOT registration. FMCSA New Split Sleeper Pilot Program Thursday , FMCSA announced a pilot program to evaluate the flexibility of Split Sleeper birth Rules in two additional periods 6/4 split and a 5/5 split. During the pilot program, participant drivers will be permitted to split the mandatory 10 hours off into two period with each period no less than 4 hours under exemption. Current Hour of Service Rules has a 7/3 or 8/2 Sleeper Birth Split. which was last revised in September 2020. FMC...SA says that there was a lot of appeal for more flexibility and shorter sleeper birth splitting period during hours of rulemaking. Collected data through this pilot program will be analyzed for safety performance, driver fatigue and other metrics to determine addition for further splits in sleeper birth rule. ------------------------ AD Services Ltd.
