Some scanning jobs required to stop out of your comfort zone. Scanning a 100 ft vertical shaft while hanging from a basket needs nerve as well as preparations. we had to build a special bracket with 5/8th tread to be able to safely attach the laser scan tribrach and lower down with the hanging basket to get out of the scanner field of view and remotely run it. The result was far better than anyone expectation including the client. Another properly documented heritage building went out of the door today.In this walkthrough, I tried to show how perfectly point cloud and Revit 3D model could be matched with the survey file. 175 scans with #ZF5016 including 30 colorized scans for the exteriors, all registered C2C. Just used targets on pole over known point to move the data to survey points. Modeling done in Revit 2020 using Auto desk Recap. Floor plans, elevation and sections in 2D could be exported as wel...l as the 3D model into Auto Cad from Revit directly. I am not a fan of delivering just #pointcloud to the clients, because most of the time if not always PC is not people involved in #BIM and #VDC community like the Architects and contractors need a deliverables in their native daily formats. #aerogeometrics #realitycapture #laserscanning #bimworld #scantobim #lidar #bimmanager #aec #lidar vfx
