Hey Hey Hey, Today is International Chess Day! https://www.un.org/en/observances/world-chess-day
I encourage all our members to give this a try.
Hi all, If you've been keeping up with ChessKid's rising stars, you know the boy called Tani. A Nigerian refugee, he won the New York State K-3 Championship while in a homeless shelter. Since then, he's become a published author. He recently won yet another championship and now he's officially a 10-year-old National Master! Today, Tani is joining us for a special show to celebrate his new title. At 2:00 pm Pacific/5:00 pm Eastern, tune in for "Tani is a Chess Master" with NM(!) Tani Adewumi and FunMasterMike on Chess.com/TV! Tani will show off the key moments from his recent tournament that made him a master, and you may get to play Tani too!
Good video. Maybe we have the next big chess streamer in our club.
An amazing move made by Wesley So in this game.
Hi All, Hope everyone is well and staying healthy. The new city councillor for Ward 22, Scarborough-Agincourt (L'Amoreaux Community Recreation Centre where we play chess is in this ward) is Nick Mantas. I have copied his email about The Scarborough COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic below. Please read it carefully and share this post with all your friends in Scarborough. ... Hopefully the community centres will open up and allow our chess club to return soon. Any questions about this, the community centre or anything else should be directed to the councillor. His contact information is below. Take care, Lorne Dear Neighbour, I have an important update to share with you regarding the vaccination of Scarborough residents 80 years of age and older. The Scarborough COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic website is now live and includes a pre-registration form for our 80+ population. I strongly urge residents of Scarborough-Agincourt who are 80+ years old, and are interested in receiving the vaccine, to pre-register. When vaccine supply permits, you will receive information about how to schedule your appointment. Please visit www.scarboroughcovidvaccineclinic.ca to complete your pre-registration form - you will also find information on the vaccinations. Additionally, you are able to call 1-888-385-1910 to speak with an agent who can help connect you to a local vaccine clinic. They will be happy to walk you through with the pre-registration or booking process. The Call Centre is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m, 7 days a week. COVID-19 vaccinations are by appointment-only; there are no walk-in clinics at this time. Eligible individuals should only sign up at one Ontario Health Team vaccination clinic site. Please do not register or book appointments at multiple sites as all your bookings may be cancelled. Please share this email with your family and friends! Best Regards, Nick Mantas Councillor Ward 22, Scarborough-Agincourt 100 Queen Street West, Suite A1 Toronto, ON M5H 2N2 Phone: 416-392-1374 Fax: 416-392-7431 [email protected]
Bobby Fisher on The Tonight Show shortly after winning the world championship. A pretty good interview by Johnny Carson. Hope everyone is well. Take care, ... Lorne

The series on Netflix was fantastic! If you haven't seen it already check it out, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Spoiler Alert! You may want to watch the show first before you watch this video. Here is some history and good analysis of the games on the show.
Stay healthy everyone. Protect yourself and others by getting the flu shot.
This may take a minute. It did me.

More Nakhmanson Gambit fun. :-)
