Kaidence Flaman is older than her sister Lauren, but it was Lauren who played ringette first. Watching her sister convinced Kaidence to sign up, but she didn’t wait until the following season to start. She got Mom and Dad to get her playing that January! Gymnastics and baton twirling were Kaidence’s focus at the time, but ringette soon took over. Playing and learning the sport she loves, as well as her awesome teammates, keeps Kaidence loving ringette these last 4 years. A na...tural athlete, she likes playing all positions, but center is her favourite. Fastpitch is Kaidence’s sport in the spring, and baking keeps her busy at home. Gymkhana and her precious horse, Steel, round out her busy life. Santa is coming soon, and Kaidence has her list ready: cowboy boots, a riding helmet, horse stuff, and a cat. That's a pretty good list, and we hope you get everything you asked for, Kaidence! See more

Even though art is her favourite subject at school, and she loves to do crafts at home, don’t be fooled: Felicity Thompson is one tough competitor! She has played ringette for 6 years now, and counts gymnastics as her other passion. Mom used to play ringette, Dad owns a boxing gym, and both brothers play hockey and lacrosse. Physicality is in her blood! Winning gold at the Ring of Fire as an affiliate at Step 3, going to Edmonton to play in a tournament that raises money for cancer, and bonding with her teammates are just a few of the special things that Felicity loves about ringette. The team aspect, and how fast and fun the sport is, make the stoppage in play due to Covid-19 especially difficult for her. She can’t wait to get back on the ice! Neither can any of us, Felicity! We love to watch all our athletes play the sport they love!

Attention ARA athletes and, coaches, and parents! Please read the following carefully. What a great opportunity for our athletes! Impact Ringette is putting together 2 Elite teams to compete in the Lions Cup in Finland 2022. This would be for U14 and U16 athletes in 2022. Our hope is to bring the best that Alberta has to offer to Finland and will be holding ID skates in the summer of 2021. Please go to Impact Ringette’s website for more information.

A very important message from ARA: The provincial government announced in the last hour that sports would be suspended for 2 weeks to help with the uptick in COVID cases occurring within the province. ARA is following the chain of command and trying to get information from our governing body Ringette Alberta, we will likely see some sort of formal announcement from them shortly.... For now, until we have official word from Ringette Alberta we will continue on as scheduled. Please stay tuned for further ARA announcements, likely later tonight sometime. Regards, ARA Board
