To Our Valued Patients, As of midnight, March 31st we will no longer be permitted to see any emergency patients within our offices. The NS Government and the NS Dental Board have determined that the community spread of COVID-19 has increased the risk to both patients and dental practitioners. We want you to know that we are still here for you and are still available to take your calls Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. After the initial triage one of our dent...ists will call you to offer advice, as well as over the phone emergency care. We will also arrange referrals to the established Emergency Dental Treatment Centres as required. Outside of regular office hours please listen carefully to our voicemail, as our on call dentist is still available to speak with you regarding a dental emergency. Important Update on Emergency Care: As of March 22, dentists can no longer practice dentistry in their offices unless they deem it necessary to perform an emergency dental procedure in the best interest of the patient’s health. This is an order under the Health Protection Act. At Alliance Dental, we remain committed to our patients and will be answering all calls. COVID-19 Update To Our Loyal Patients, ... We are following recommendations by the Provincial Dental Board of Nova Scotia and immediately suspending all non-essential and elective dental services. We will do our best to reschedule your appointment in a timely manner and look forward to seeing you when we have direction that it is safe to do so. Emergency treatment will continue. It’s #StaffLoveSunday and this week we’re shouting out Dr Megan Behan from our Dartmouth Office. Being a Dartmouth local she graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biology. Dr Megan then pursued dentistry and graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University in 2016. She’s an active volunteer in her church as a member of the Communications Committee, and her hobbies include travelling and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and is very excited to be practising in her hometown of Dartmouth! From the whole team here at Alliance Dental, thank you for your dedication to your community and your patients Dr Megan Behan. We know it's true and so do you! Cavities can hide in the tightest nooks and crannies of your mouth, that's why flossing needs to be a part of your oral health routine. Even the best toothbrush doesn't reach between your teeth and below your gum line as well as floss can. While mouthwash can help freshen your breath and even strengthen your tooth enamel, it isn't good at removing food debris. The best oral health approach is four-fold, brushing, flossing, rising and seeing your dentist regularly!
