Remembering Bishop Peddle Dear Diocesan Family, One year ago, today we lost a dear friend and former bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Peddle. As we embark upon... this Thanksgiving weekend, we remember with thankfulness the life and ministry of Bishop Geoff. We give thanks for his episcopal leadership, his teaching of the faith, and his passion for making Christ known in the world. In our remembrance, we also continue to keep his family in our prayers. As we pray for those we love but see no longer, may we as a Diocese share in this prayer as we remember Bishop Geoff. Lord of life and love, as we give thanks for times past, grant us the courage to embrace the present and grace to share the future. In memory of loved ones dear, kindle their flame to shine in the dark and light the path ahead. Show the way that leads to life as we cherish days gone by and inspire us with a touch of love that faith and hope live on. Amen. (Prayers for the Departed and Dearly Missed) With a thankful heart, The Ven. Charlene Taylor Diocesan Administrator

After a most difficult day, let us pray... Dear God, It’s difficult to fully let go of our anxiety, or the world around us when we can’t see evidence of all tha...t you’re doing when we can’t understand or see your purpose or plan. Today, we pause and remind ourselves of our dependency on you, for we know in our hearts that our circumstances and futures are touched by your hands. Isaiah 55:8 reminds us that our thoughts are not your thoughts and that our ways are not your ways. When we are struggling to see clearly and make decisions, we are not alone and that inner peace is something only you can supply. So today Lord, we purposefully, even urgently, say again that we choose to believe in you. We know that it’s often in the most challenging times that you are most at work. Thank you for being the one who gives us the strength to help each other and to see distinctly the choices we face. As we scan our personal horizons, we know that we also must look to you alone for the power and possibility that is our future. We ask for your guidance so that we might walk fully in your path a path that you have blessed. We also ask for your face to shine on us individually, and as a team of colleagues and partners. Please bring to fulfillment all that you have given us to do in the weeks ahead. Give us a heart of wisdom to hear your voice; and then make our footsteps firm. Please make us strong through your favor and grace. - written by Greg Christopher

Last year the CBS/Paradise Food Bank distributed over 437 Christmas hampers. Due to the COVID-19 situation, many avenues of support for the Annual Christmas Hamper Appeal may not be available this year. The Food Bank will be relying upon financial donations to ensure families and individuals in need receive a hamper during this coming Christmas season. A hamper for one person costs $50, for two-three people $75, and for a family of four or more the cost is $100. If you are unable to donate the cost of a full hamper, any donation is appreciated, and we thank you very much. Please consider dropping an extra envelope in our collection plate, and mark it "Christmas Hamper". You may also send an e-Transfer to [email protected], and please indicate in the notes section "Christmas Hamper".
