Amigas Foundation of Cambridge 24.03.2021

It is incredible that one year ago this week I hosted my first Gala dinner as the Chair of the Amiga’s Foundation of Cambridge. To think that 500 women gathered together, in one room, to raise funds for our hospital; the strength of our community is remarkable. I was humbled and honoured to carry on this tradition, which is approaching its 17th year. This organization was created by seven incredible women within our local Portuguese Community. We are forever grateful for yo...ur contributions. Together, with our amazing sponsors, and all of the dedicated women in attendance, we raised $20,000.00 for the purchase of much-needed hospital equipment at Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Thank you to each and every person who attended, contributed & donated to our amazing evening. We could not have done it without you! #AmigasFoundationofCambridge #CMHFoundation #Friendships #WomenEmpoweringWomen #WeAreStrongerTogether #TogetherInSpirit

Good Evening Amiga's (Amigo's & sponsors)! Thank you for taking the time to like this page and learn a little bit about what we are all about. The Amiga's Foundation of Cambridge was founded 15 years ago by 7 incredible women from the Portuguese Community of Cambridge. Their goal was to raise awareness and funds for the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation, as many people were not aware that hospital equipment is funded 100% by Community dollars. Over the last 15 years ...these incredible women have raised over $130,000.00 for the foundation. (Without the use of social media - mind blowing I know!). Their contributions have helped fund and MRI machine, an eye laser device, a breast reconstruction machine, a bladder scanner ad other essential items necessary for patient care. Their tremendous success is a direct result of their passion for the Community and dedication for making a difference. In February 2019, the Amiga's stepped down as the tireless leaders of this amazing foundation and I, Sue Machado was nominated to help keep the tradition alive and strong. So here I am, looking to you my fellow Facebook friends, to help raise awareness and much needed funds for the equipment which affects each and every person who walks into the doors of our hospital. First order of business is to report that the 16th Annual Gala Dinner on February 22, 2020 has officially SOLD OUT! It happened a lot quicker than I could have anticipated. We have 518 Amiga's confirmed to participate in this amazing night filled with great food, great entertainment and dancing to cap the charitable night! The Foundation has secured some great sponsors for the event and are looking to add to that list. This is an incredible opportunity to capture the attention of 518 women, most, if not all of which are the decision makers in the family. Please reach out to me to discuss these opportunities. I will be announcing the sponsorship list shortly as well as posting some of the incredible prizes we have lined up for the evening.
