Hayden cleaned up about 60 more burned trees and cleaned up the soil then set up the giant tent. We burned a huge amount of stumps branches etc. Lots of work. He put 9 boats in the tent today. Six 18 footers and three 20 footers. will see how it holds up and if it is good maybe get another. Has anyone had experience with these. How do they hold up to snow loads?

Last weekend the weather was nice so we took some time to enjoy our last little fishing outing and catch a few for dinner. Will be closing up and leaving camp this week. Deb and Seanna caught a few worthy of photos. released of course. Lots of nice fat walleye this time of year. Even caught a few 22-24 inch MALE walleye.

Hayden picked up Deb for the final weekend before we shut down. Got a nice sunset photo. Here are a few more from earlier.

Facebook reminded me of this photo when Deb and Seanna had a double. While Seanna’s walleye stayed deep deb’s pike took a run like a salmon. I would have chased it down if Seanna’s walleye hadn’t kept me from moving the boat. Two beauties with two trophies. Thing is we went out because Seanna wanted to catch a giant pike!!!

Rick and mike had great weather for their visit. Although a bit windy one day. Rick said they caught more fish and larger average size than in previous years. Although in previous years they always caught one or two truly huge pike. Here are a few examples I found quickly

In August Tim and Deb from near Barrie Ontario were up for their 10 or 12th visit also. Sent a few photos. Of course with the border closed none of our guests from the states could visit.

Rick and Mike are here for their 12th year. They always land a few giant pike. Yesterday they caught this beauty. Today they caught a nice big walleye. Weather was gorgeous. Sunny, gentle wind a bit cool. Sometimes mid to late September the weather is great. And a good time to catch big fish.

Wow - Hayden is awesome operating that excavator. We just moved the excavator back to camp from the portage on the barge we built for it. Worked great. Now we will get to work finishing the clean up of the 2018 fire and hopefully erecting the 30 x60 tent we bought to store 9 boats. Lots of work to do.

This was too cute not to post. We planted grass to hold the dirt from washing into the river at the portage. So now someone figures it is a golf course. Ha ha. But it IS working to keep the soil in place. Took a lot of work to contour the grounds proper drainage to keep the water running where it needs to . I will try to get more pics. Bottom pic is a drainage ditch with grass growing.

Cabin 2 is nearly completed. Hayden finished up the plumbing in 3 of the bathrooms. Finally took time to photograph it. It photographs well. Huge living room with 23 foot ceiling. Giant 20x 40 deck. 12 beds in 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms 3 more beds in sleeping cabin attached by 20 foot boardwalk. Facebook sent me a reminder of these photos of Hayden catching this huge pike. I dont’ think it was his largest but it is was close. His largest pike ever was thru the ice a year or two before. He also caught a 44 in her thru the ice when he was just 4 years old. Anyways this one was a beauty and caught on his walleye rod and a 1/4 oz jig and minnow. So it gave him a really good fight.
