WE HAVE REACHED OUR BREAKING POINT. It’s unfortunate that we have felt the need to make this post. We had been thinking of saying something about it for quite some time now but were hoping everyone would adjust to these uncertain times and it would settle down, but unfortunately that’s not the case. After several recent incidents we feel the need to publicly state this: Most of our customers are wonderful! The majority are pleasant, appreciative, loyal and patient. And f...or that we are extremely grateful! But unfortunately all it takes is one rude customer to ruin a server’s day. The amount of times we have had a server in tears during her shift is absolutely unacceptable. Our servers have been called degrading names, sworn at, yelled at, threatened, and we even had a female staff member physically assaulted by a male patron. We also had an underage female server being photographed by a middle-aged male customer without permission on our private property, because he was eager to report us to the health unit as he disagreed with our Covid precautions. However, he was misinformed as we were not violating any protocols! Our teenage server noticed him photographing her, and went to hide from him in the back as she was so uncomfortable. We have always taken pride in our restaurant being a fun place to work for all of our staff, as we consider them family. We have had many of the same staff members for YEARS, which is very uncommon in the food & service industry. When we have servers in tears on a regular basis, we have an issue that needs to be addressed. HARASSMENT, NAME-CALLING, SWEARING, YELLING, PHOTOGRAPHING, and ANY & ALL AGGRESSIVE AND HOSTILE BEHAVIOUR towards any of our staff, is UNACCEPTABLE and will NOT be tolerated at Apollo Grill. Our staff are all kind, hardworking people and part of why Apollo Grill continuously wins awards is because they take so much pride in their work. We are known for our friendly staff and have even won awards for best SERVICE in Peterborough! If you are unable to treat our staff with respect, we ask you to please stay home. Such behaviour will result in you being no longer welcome in either of our stores.
