Reflections on Walking Together on the Journey to Right Relationships: A Message from Archbishop Don Bolen We are approaching the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and look forward to marking it in various ways. But we are mindful that this is not the work of a day. We need to embark on an era of reconciliation which will ask much of us, but will allow us to take important steps on a path to justice, to healing, to living together in a good way, in right relationship with each other and on the land on which we are blessed to live.
There’s a line I came upon in the musings of a preacher: On a Sunday morning many of the people sitting before you are the walking wounded, and you need to give them permission to be sad. In a world obsessed with happiness, where being great is all that matters, let the preacher say, you have permission to be sad...
As the Vatican health service continued vaccinating Vatican residents and employees against COVID-19, it also began offering the vaccine to homeless people who live in Vatican-owned shelters. https://www.catholicregister.org//32618-vatican-begins-vac

At his General Audience on Wednesday, Pope Francis marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day, observed on the anniversary of the liberation of Nazi concentration and extermination camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Tam is asking churches to promote the basics of safety under the pandemic mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing. She also wants faith leaders’ help in reassuring Canadians that the vaccines are safe, effective and our best hope for a return to normal.
Merry Christmas from all of us at the Archdiocese of Regina! Wishing a Christmas filled with the peace and joy of Christ's love.
Emmanuel! God is with us! Even though this Christmas may look a lot different, and we may not be gathered together in the same ways, it is still a day of celebration. So how are you celebrating today? Post a photo in the comments and let us know! Merry Christmas!
St. Joseph has no terms and offers to no one an account of his life. He accepts a fatherhood that is not a fatherhood, becomes a father in renouncing a natural ...paternity, allows the designation father to be used of him without advertising that his is a very special case. His silence marks the intimacy of his total self-gift and, one could say, self-immolation into a paternity he cannot brag about and an identity of which he can give no account except to and in the heart of Mary his wife. But this, in traditional pietyand not without biblical reason, if Ignatius and Origen are reading correctlymakes him not the image but the shadow of the Eternal Father whose identity is dark and unknowable because it consists in the complete effacement of identity that is the begetting of the Son (like a supra-cosmic black hole of which St. Joseph is the visible version). But what is darkness and self-effacement and blankness on the one side of self-immolation is generation and paternal love and affection on the other side, toward Jesus. --John Cavadini READ MORE: The Fatherly Heart of Saint Joseph https://hubs.ly/H0FrwlZ0

Bill C-7 will have serious ramifications for all Canadians, for today and in the decades to come. The harm that Bill C-7 can do if passed is undeniable. This q...uote comes from Margaret Somerville who objected to Bill C-14. Contact your MP today and speak up for the most vulnerable in our society. See more
It’s a practice of faith, charity and justice prudence. It’s a practice of concern for others. It has to do with a mutual health issue. That’s important, he said. From our Christian perspective, that’s a matter of charity, love of neighbour and even social justice. We always keep our eye on the bigger picture.

: & In 2020, Toronto Catholics marked the first annual Stewardship Sunday: a reminder that all our time, ...talent, and treasure are gifts of God's love meant to be spent in service of others. One way we can offer our gifts to others is through serving on a board or committee whether of a charity, non-profit, business, or other institution. In this webinar, experienced Catholic board leaders will share their stories and you'll learn: Who should consider serving on a board, and why; How Catholic social teaching calls us to serve our neighbours; How board service can help you grow in faith, particularly in serving your neighbours and living out your Gospel values; and, Explore opportunities to serve on a board.
