Cozy Corner Holiday Edition: A Family Grief Activity During the holidays, we may experience grief in ways that are unexpected and challenging. The following activity is a fun way to spend time expressing your emotions and remembering your loved ones. Take your time following along with Jenna by pausing or rewinding the video as needed. How beautiful? Handcrafted by Eve Webb the owner of Jane of all Trades! Eve sold handcrafted ornaments in support of three local charities this year as part of her giveback project! We are so thankful to be one of the recipients! Raising over $150 for hospice care. Eve graciously donated the remaining ornaments for us to give to our residents and their families. Thank you, Eve!

Wow! How inspiring to see kids helping Hospice! 11-year-old Rena Brouillard used her creative talents by painting and selling art pieces at a silent auction with the proceeds going to ARCH Hospice! She raised $5,542 in honour of her great grandmother. She wanted an opportunity to raise money and donate it to ARCH. When she had her experience at ARCH when her great grandma passed, she was learning through family and friends that they are funded through people doing fundraisers, donations and sponsorships so she really took an interest in helping out. We could all learn from her on how to be caring, loving and giving - Debbie McMillan

WOW absolutely amazing, thank you Sault Ste. Marie, it was an honor for our staff and volunteers to be a part of the magic of decorating Smile Cookies again this year! We are incredibly grateful to our community and the local Tim Hortons team for their support of raising $25,600.03 for both ARCH and The Twinkie Foundation! This means a lot for both charities right now as our services of providing high-quality care and support are still very needed. Way to go Sault Ste. Marie!

We love the "Healing After Loss, Daily Meditations for Working through Grief" book by Martha W. Hickman. In case we are feeling driven to somehow "get done with" our grieving (if I do it faster, maybe I will feel better sooner), let us be reminded that, as in many of life's profoundest experiences faster is not necessarily better. It will take as much time as it needs. Our task is to be attentive when the messages of mind and memory come.

We pause to remember and honor those who gave their lives for others to live lives of freedom and peace. Today and every day we give thanks for their bravery, commitment, and their love for our country. We remember you.

Our residents appreciate the warmth of a freshly heated blanket, which is like a big hug to symbolizes the comfort they will experience during their stay with us.
