Drum Roll please! Good ride Eric. Anyone else have a ride to register?
Good ride Laurie!
How well do you know HammerFest Contest!
A couple of pics from the Open House at the Englishman River Falls Park to welcome the hordes of people that came to ride the new trail system. Some hikers but mainly mtn bikers with a lot of family groups riding Milky Way and Little and Big Dipper Loops. The word is out and positive. A great way to access the adjacent HammerFest trail network as well!
Time on your hands these unsettled days? What to get political and pro-active about biking? Here's your opportunity to tell the BC Gov your thoughts and ideas on how to manage cycling expenditures and improvements. Read the BC Cycling Coalition blog and then follow their links to add your part to the process. https://www.bccc.bc.ca//bc-budget-consultation-time-to-go-
https://news.gov.bc.ca/22416 Well, if this doesn't make it official then nothing will. Congratulations to BC Parks and the Club for completing the project!

Park connector trail all done and dusted. Ready for easy access to the Englishman River Falls Park trails and beyond to HammerFest!
The How Well Do You Know Hammerfest Contest Contest: To find a route at HammerFest (HF) that logs the most Kms in a single ride. Date: Contest starts on June 1 and finishes on June 30, 2020... Boundaries: Contest limited to HF proper. No trails or roads above or up-river of the BC Hydro powerlines corridor. The road and trails under the powerlines are ok. Other HF access roads are ok. No trails (Dead Pioneer) or roads (Fischer) west of Downunder/Outback. No Englishman River Falls Park trails. Route: Riders can only use a section of trail or a section of road only once! Direction doesn’t matter, up or down but only once. Riders can cross their route at 4-way intersections only. Conditions: Rider must share their route on ACC Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ArrowsmithCyclingClub) or Instagram (@arrowsmithcyclingclub) or email a GPS file to the Club (info@arrowsmithcyclingclub). This could be a Strava, RidewithGPS or Garmin file, an upload to Trailforks or other GPS software file that shows location, distance, elevation etc. Who: Open to Everyone Winner: The person that logs the most kms in a single ride Prize: Refund of 2020 membership costs or free membership for 2021. Bragging rights, of course! And whatever else? Caveat: Recognition of GPS discrepancies will mean that the decision of the judges (Teresa/Tam) will be final.
McGarrigle Woodworking from Nanaimo working on the last stage of the trail upgrades to Englishman River Falls Provincial Park. A short trail from the main parking lot up to a service road providing better staging and access to the new multi-use trails!
