Back when we were allowed to gather, we held a short little workshop with one of our regular instructors, Richard Hutton. The focus of this acrylic workshop primarily was painting rocks. Two of the students thankfully shared their incredible accomplishments. I know they both did a little extra work on their own and it has paid off. I am obsessed with Jane's rocks on the top and Denise's trees and sky on the bottom!!! We're working on some virtual classes so feel free to inquire.

After teaching art to kids for 10 years, it feels very odd not guiding them through the projects and enjoying the final product. I am so grateful when you send in photos!! Spring Children shared these results of their art kits. Clearly no help was required.

Our newest art kit uses chalk or soft pastel for colour. Two of the projects shown here were done by students at our studio -- not professionals -- so do try this at home ; ) Everything you need to recreate this project at home, twice, is included. $20.

We have a new art project available (more in our "shop" and at www.artandclass.ca). This has been one our most successful projects at the studio over the years. Easy enough for three year olds, but sophisticated enough for everyone to enjoy, the Flowers in a Vase retails for $20 and makes 2 projects (like all our art projects). Just in time for Mother's Day -- sure to make her feel special.

Meet the Ball family of pigs. You can practically see their different personalities. Missing from the photo is the dad's. Kudos that he gave it a try but the photo looked a little more like a crime scene so we omitted that one ;) Congrats Cath of Perth Physiotherapy on rallying her family for this felting project on Easter weekend.

While art & class is officially closed, we can still do a porch drop or arrange for contact-free pick up outside our studio with e-transfer as the payment option. We are working on art kits to make beautiful projects at home. We have 2 ready to go. These kits contain everything you need to duplicate the project (including painters tape), only excuding some basics like a pencil, scrap paper and erasers. We will also package supplies for you to make your own creations, for example: bleeding tissue, wc paper and brushes. Also canvases, brushes, paints etc. Here are 2 kits we have ready to go. The butterfly retails for $18 and the mou...ntain range retails for $20. As you acquire the kits, you may not need the extra brushes so we can customize subsequent styles for you and reduce the price accordingly. Our hours are reduced and a little sporadic at the moment. Watercolour Evening Class for beginners with a focus on water. Plus a wee bit of colour theory (triads). Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm. All materials included: $200+tax.

Our adult classes are coming to an end, and we will be starting a new session the first week of March. Our open adult classes on Tuesday and Wednesday are perfect for the artist looking to paint what they want and get tips and pointers from one of our fantastic teachers to achieve their artistic goals. These classes welcome acrylic, oils, watercolour and even sketching! Our Beginner Acrylics class on Thursday is great for those who have limited to no experience working with acrylic paint, and want to learn colour theory (optional) and the basics to the medium while creating a beautiful painting chosen by everyone in the group.
