Artex Dealer Cowhouse from the Netherlands sent us these great images of Hettinga Farms. Check out what they had to say about the project: At the beginning of this year, the cows of the Hettinga family in Koarnjum (north of the Netherlands) were transferred to the new free-stall barn. The barn has been designed with a lot of attention to cow comfort and health. Cowhouse has delivered the barn equipment for this project. The barn is equipped with Wisconsin cubicles (Y2K Loops...) that provide free head space. In addition, the dairy cows eat through the CSL feed fence. This fence offers a lot of space due to the wide top opening, which ensures the cows can easily reach the feed. The cows can be easily separated from the robots by a well thought-through fence plan. A feed alley bridge with hydraulic barrier has been designed in collaboration with LMB Verburg. This allows the cows to easily cross to go to the pasture. The Safesystem side wall ventilation and the roll-up gates at the straw bedded pen are supplied by Airkoe. What a #BeautifuBarn #DairyDesign #ArtexBarn

Currently based in Iowa, Wytse is a Dutch immigrant with an extensive background in animal science and lots of dairy experience. Wytse has managed and owned multiple dairy farms in both Canada and the USA and, most recently, has spent the last eight years in animal nutrition in the U.S. Wytse earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Midland University, Omaha NE.... He is a Certified Animal Scientist, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and Project Management Professional (PMP). In the past, he was a Cow Signals Master Trainer and a Lely Farm Management Support advisor. In his role with Artex, Wytse will be supporting our sales staff on ventilation projects and will be spear-heading market research and on-farm ventilation projects and trials.
