Assiniboine Lodge

This is Gertrude Benham, the first woman to climb Mount Assiniboine back in 1904. Gertrude climbed Lefroy, Victoria, Popes Peak, Whyte, Temple, Fay (first ascent), Stephen, Sir Donald, Sifton, Dawson, Deville (Selwyn), Bonney and Rogers, and Swiss Peak all in the same summer as Assiniboine. I am a lone wanderer. I have no home in the sense that it is generally understood, and so there is nothing to prevent me enjoying to the utmost the spirit of wanderlust that has entered... my soul. I am never lonely.
