Modern day alchemy... Parking lot weeds transmutated into a luxurious wedding ceremony backdrop. Ok, there’s also a few proper flowers in the mix, some from our friends @homefieldfarm and some leftover from last week’s wedding. I can’t wait to see the pictures @juno_photography took of this... If you’re curious about my thoughts on this installation, check out my stories... #weddingceremony #montrealwedding #montrealflorist #seasonalfloweralliance

Wild asters. This morning the news came that our last wedding of the season (in four days) would be scaled down from a small family affair to a simple ceremony in the parc. I felt for this bride who had to change and re-organize about half a dozen times since the spring... I remind myself about that when I find myself feeling sad that I won’t be able to use any wild asters this season. What a strange and stressful year it’s been. I’m counting on catching up next summer and using truckloads of these babies!

This is my child. My beautiful, innocent, privileged white child. He’s nine years old. For the past few days (since he was born really, but sometimes the intensity swells) I’ve been wondering what I can do to make sure he’s part of the solution, not the problem. As someone who grew up in one of the most culturally diverse neighborhoods in Canada, who grew up taking for granted that humans come in many shapes, colors, sizes, whatever... I always thought that passing those values down to my child was my way of making sure things would get better in the long run. Now I’m realizing maybe that’s not enough. Maybe, hopefully, there’s more we can do. There has to be. It can’t take another few generations before shit changes. Maybe it’s too easy to say that they’re the future; we have to be the future. NOW. #blacklivesmatter #nojusticenopeace

It’s hard to find the right words in times like this. Saying nothing feels wrong, and yet, saying the right thing seems impossible...

SIMPLICITY. This is where I’m at guys. Making arrangements from rehydrated seaweed salad. Not like Oh this would be a fun thing to try!... No I made it to EAT it and then then found myself unable to consume the prettiest pieces. This month has been swell @studiomondine . Can you keep doing it? Please? #outcomeneutraldesign #ikebanaunbound @mybloomist @artisan_books

This time last year when the spirea was in full force. Missing work right now, especially when I see all the flowering trees and I don’t have a reason to pluck from them @cagdasyoldas @foudamour_mtl #montrealwedding #montrealflorist

This week!!! For the #outcomeneutraldesign @studiomondine challenge... Theme was BALANCE so I played a bit of flower jenga. Friends, letting go of the expectations and not focusing on the final result is incredibly freeing. You should try. #ikebanaunbound @artisan_books @mybloomist
