Young TRTFN citizens living in Atlin! Earn some cash - $20 per hour! Guys or gals welcome. It's forecast to snow a lot in the next week. The Atlin Rec Centre would like to sponsor snow shoveling for TRTFN Elders living in Atlin this winter, and we are looking for 2 or 3 reliable people to hire to shovel snow when Elders need it. Please Stuart at 651-0069 if you would like to provide this service. This service applies for all Seniors and Elders in Atlin. The Rec Centre has bee...n providing this service to some Seniors already but we may not have reached you with the advertising. If you want to get on the list to be shoveled out please call me. If you are a TRTFN Elder living in Atlin, I already have your name, we are just trying to line up a few interested workers at this time, who will automatically shovel when it's needed without having to be called about it every time it snows. Thank you See more

Live music and dancing in bubbles on the street turned out to be quite a successful event, everybody told us. The Atlin Rec Centre would love to thank the RCMP for their partnership in making sure this event was safe and fun for all. We did our best to make sure that Rec Centre members had the first opportunity for tickets inside the Rec Centre property and sorry we couldn’t accommodate all but we maxed out the 50 allowed and I hope it worked out OK for most who really wanted to be there. Thanks again to all the volunteers who organised, set up and tore down/cleaned up afterward. This is what the Rec Centre is about.

Attention all Rec Centre members! The dancing in the street event on July 11 is getting way more attention than I thought it would, and I am getting calls from the Yukon from people interested in attending. If you are a Rec Centre member and plan on attending this event, we recommend you pay your cover charge before Friday night to reserve a seat, if you plan on being inside the expanded serving area. We will only be allowed a maximum of 50 people at a time in that area, and ...I want to make sure that Rec Centre members get the first chance for that. If you don’t need to be in the serving area, there is no cover charge and you can sit on the other side of the street or dance in the street as a separate group from those in the service area. See Fiona at the rec center lounge to pay your cover charge in advance and reserve your seat. The lounge is open Thursday and Friday from four till 9 PM. Fiona will Keep a list of those who have paid. At the event you will get an armband of some kind. For those who don’t get an advance ticket, if there is room available during the course of Saturday evening we will sell additional cover charges for inside the serving area subject to available space. I am sorry that we can’t have more than 50 but we need to observe the rules, and this is not a music festival. This is a chance for locals and Rec Centre members to come out and have an evening of safe fun. It is unlikely there will be space for nonmembers or non-Atlin residents inside the serving area.
