Folks, we’re having a really good tomato year! If you would like to try some canning with our tomatoes, they make delicious sauce! Yesterday we canned 55 jars!!! You certainly don’t have to take that amount on, but if you’re interested in preserving some yourself, here are our prices for this weekend at Locke Street Farmers' Market: $5.00/each for quarts of mid-large or pints of Cherry 2 for $9.00 3 for $12.00... 4 for $15.00 6 for $18.00 Half-Bushel for $25.00 Full Bushel is $45.00 Pre-order to reserve your (larger order only) for pickup on Locke Street this Saturday, Sept 5th!

However, we don’t need any more cardboard 2 or 3 litre baskets, thanks!

Lots of tomatoes this week Locke Street Farmers' Market!

So thankful for all the rain we got. Saturday, with news of the forthcoming amounts, I put in a fifteen hour day with the market in between. Before that, I seeded beets. After it, I pulled myself out of the chair to seed salad mix, spicy mix, arugula, turnips, rapini and zucchini! After Sunday’s rain, on Monday I seeded spinach and cucumbers! Nothing motivates me like the promise of rain after a long hot drought!! It’s Wednesday and the salad mix and arugula are already up!
