Annie joined us for her first group hike today! She had lots of fun, and we can't wait for her to join us again! We have space for more doggies from Barrie's north end, Midhurst and Horseshoe Valley to join us!

Now that barknbuck is offering hikes 5 days a week, here is what you need to know about them: All of the dogs who come meet one of my dogs before coming with the group. This means that client dogs will never be used to assess whether a new dog is appropriate to be with other dogs.... Client dogs are all on long lines. This allows more freedom than a regular leash, so everyone gets to run and play. This also provides more security than being fully off leash. The hike groups are fairly small. I keep it around 3-5 dogs. This means that your dog has friends to play with, which is great for socialization. The groups are also not so big that dogs get overwhelmed, that my car ends up way over-packed on the way there, or that I can't provide adequate attention to each dog. The hikes are a nice balance of crazy fun time and some structure. We practice LOTS of recalls and some sits and stays for photos. Your dog will have a great time, but they also do some learning. This is great for keeping arousal levels from getting too high. We do not hike in Barrie. It is against by law to have dogs off leash or even on a leash longer than 6ft unless you are at a dog park. Since the other dogs at the dog park are not guaranteed to be friendly or appropriate, I drive the dogs out of town to make sure that I provide this service where it is safe and legal to do so. There is space for your dog to join in on the fun! I am accepting new dogs from the north end of Barrie, Midhurst, and parts of Horseshoe Valley. If you aren't sure whether or not you fall into this area, feel free to ask! If you have more questions, please call or text me at 705-321-8602.
