Congatulations to our Deck Cadet Mr. Mackin Lang featured in this video from Royal Carribean Cruiselines earlier this year. Way to promote Careers at Sea!
This summer five first year BCIT Marine Engineering Cadets toured Princess Cruises ship the Coral Princess. The tour was set up by Princess Cruises HR Manager from Princess’ office in the UK. It allowed the Cadets to become familiar with the ship especially the Engine room and machinery spaces where they will be learning the ins and outs of being a Marine Engineer during their upcoming Co-op work terms. All 5 students have been selected by Princess to complete their Co-op... placements aboard ships in the Princess fleet around the world. Eventually all 5 will become qualified Marine Engineers working for Princess Cruises following the sun! Joining the students on the tour from BCIT were Stephanie Tack (Program Assistant) and Jeff Otto (Co-op Coordinator). For more information on our Co-op Diploma programs visit our website http://www.bcit.ca/transportation/marine/
