We have just been informed that face shields are no longer permitted to be worn in place of a face mask, unless the player has a medical condition. Quinte Christian High School's policy is to have a medical note from a doctor for the medical condition. Also another reminder that face masks need to be covering the nose down to the chin at all times in the school. The only exceptions are if you step outside for air or you are taking a drink. Please see an executive member if y...ou have any questions. Thank-you for your cooperation.

"After much deliberation and consultation, a difficult decision has been reached and that decision is to delay the start of the junior program. (BQBC). I would certainly like to get our season going but given the trend in the numbers over the last couple of weeks, there is just too much risk to the coaches and players and even a risk for the players' return to school. With regrets, but still ...... Keep on Smashing Tom Dolan"

Hello to all: After our first night of play there are a few things to keep in mind when coming to the gym to play Badminton. The executive has put in a lot of work into trying to make this a successful season for everyone. If we all do our part it will be. Currently we have 40 members out of a possible 50 signed up. 1. Masks are mandatory before entering the school and during play. Masks need to be worn covering your nose down under your chin (standard). If you need a breath... of fresh air you may step outside for a breather. 2. Before coming to Badminton, if you're not feeling well, been out of the country in the last 14 days, been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for covid PLEASE STAY AT HOME. 3. Upon arrival at the gym please use the sanitizer on the tables before entering the gym. Also use it as much as possible during your night of play as you will be playing with many different players. There is also soap and water in the bathrooms. 4. We will have a sign in sheet for traceability purposes in case we are asked from the health unit. It will be a sheet with all the members' names, so a simple check or highlight will do. 5. Remember to keep your distance from one another and respect each other's space. 6. We will enter the cafeteria and we will use the south doors for entering the gym and the north door for exiting. This will prevent people from bumping into one another. 7. For the first people arriving the equipment room has a blue box marked Belleville Badminton Club. This box contains sanitizers and paper towel for wiping down the equipment. Poles should be wiped down before and after play as we have no idea when or who has touched them last. 8. Birds for play will be dispensed on the counter inside the gym where we would have normally had our sign in book. After you play a game that bird can be put back in the pail beside it and a new bird can be used for your next game. 9. Please keep within the gym area when in the school. If a janitor needs to be contacted only 1 person should seek him out. 10. We cannot have family members, spectator's, or children in the school while we are playing. If a member is being picked up please have that person stay outside until you are done. 11. One last important note. The water fountains are not working (covid reason). Bring your own drinks to the gym. The water bottle filler does work for refills if needed. Your cooperation is appreciated Let's have a great season

Hello! Important update for the 2020/2021 year: We are very glad to announce that we are going to be able to play starting Sept 8th under the Federal, Provincial and Badminton Ontario guidelines that are in force at this time. Our goals are the safety of all and getting back to playing badminton! ... The status of the Junior Badminton Club is still under investigation: we are not able to play at CSS and the available time at QSS is limited. An update will be provided when available. Adult play will be Tuesday and Thursday 7pm until 10pm at Quinte Christian High School, Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd (we were only able to secure 2 nights of play) To meet the guidelines in place, here are the highlights you need to be aware of: The maximum number of club members we can allow at this time is 50 members. Guest drop in play is not allowed (this includes open house activities) Membership is $140 for the year with memberships available starting today via cash, cheque or etransfer (read further). Memberships are first come, first served. A family discount of $50 for people living at the same address applies. Half-year memberships are not planned to be available in the new year: we will re-evaluate in January based on guidelines. the Membership list (First name, last initial) will be listed on the website so people can determine if memberships are still available. If a COVID outbreak occurs impacting our ability or safety to play, the impact will be evaluated and refunding of appropriate membership fees (prorated) would occur At ALL times within the school a face mask or shield is required: this includes waiting or playing on a court All areas OFF the court should be treated the same as any PUBLIC space: mask on, social distance, wash hands frequently and stop touching everything ! - Doubles play is allowed, Singles play if free courts are available An attendance sheet, pre-populated with your name and date will be present so we can contact trace as required Hand sanitizer will be provided, soap in the washrooms etc. Badminton birds will be new for each game you play. Birds will be cleaned, or sit for a week then used again in 1 weeks time. High fives, fist bumps, etc. to be avoided. A dry nice game will do nicely. We are a volunteer organization, doing the best we can under these challenging times. We look forward to your feedback and assistance in making our Club successfuland safe for all. eTransfer Instructions: Private Message the Belleville Badminton Club on Facebook to get the email address to eTransfer to. As of Sept 8 ~ 37 memberships paid already. The executive will be at the school tonight after 6:30pm to accept additional membership payments. Stay healthy!

Hello again! Club planning is challenging right now given the uncertainty of the current situation. But the executive has put together a plan based on the information currently available. Badminton Ontario's interpretation of the province's latest amendment regarding non-essential businesses is that badminton is currently legal for singles play only by club members. We are proceeding under the assumption that doubles play for members and guests will be allowed come this Se...ptember. Please note that this is tentative plan and will need to be adjusted if our assumption is incorrect. We also don't know what physical distancing guidelines will look like should we resume in September. The plan is to resume the 2019/2020 season on Tues Sep 8th. We will hold club championships in October. All current memberships will be honoured until the current season concludes on Thu Oct 29th. The 2020/2021 season will begin on Tue Nov 3rd. Membership rates have not yet been determined but they will be reduced to reflect the shorter season which will conclude on Thu May 20th. Guests who wish to join the club prior to the start of the 2020/2021 season can do so for $140. This membership will allow play for the balance of the 2019/2020 season as well as the full 2020/21 season. Full membership and fees details are available on the website. Dates of note: Tue Sep 8th - 2019/2020 season resumes Tue Oct 6th - Doubles Championships Tue Oct 13th - Mixed Championships Tue Oct 20th - Singles Championships Thu Oct 22nd - Annual General Meeting Tue Nov 3rd - 2020/2021 season commences Please check out the club's calendar for our complete schedule.
