One of the most asked questions when working with @bellamihairpro #hairextensions is how long it will last. Since #itipextensions are one of my most requested methods, I’d thought I’d shine a little light on the subject of longevity. You see it’s not necessarily how the hair extensions feel after time being worn by the client, but more so how the tip of the I-Tip individual strand has progressively been worn down over months of wear. To the left is an @bellamihairpro ...I-Tip after being worn for 8 MONTHS consistently and on the right is a brand new strand. You can see the difference of when it becomes time to get new hair! Every 6 weeks the tip is taken out and adjusted or reapplied onto the client's head. The bead that secured the individual strand onto the hair helps protect that tip (hence you never see my installs with the tip coming up from the top). What’s the tip made of? A rubberized compound called polyurethane. It's a strong rubber that holds up over the test of time! It’s so much better than working with keratin tipped I-Tip individual strand because it will last multiple adjustments / reapps AND protect the client's hair while the extensions are being worn (aka no need for a bulky silicone-lined bead). Throughout the client's wear, the strand naturally breaks down and becomes harder to be reinserted back into the bead. This can also be caused by crappy non-salon professional product build-up or color getting stuck in the bead if you aren’t rinsing your hair correctly. Let’s talk @bellamihairpro K-Tips aka keratin tipped individual strand extensions! I love using this method for clients who have fine to thick hair and who don’t want a commitment of regular maintenances in the salon. Bellami Hair Pro offers two different sizes for their K-Tip method of extensions, regular and micro. They can be customized even more depending on the clients density as well! The client shown in this video has both regular and micro #keratinextensions. I use...d the regular sized strand through her nape rows and then as I moved up through her sides and top rows,I used micro k-tips. I wanted to make sure that the bonds were small enough to concealed through her hair as it naturally was less dense moving to the top of the head. Unlike the other individual strand extension method I offer, K-Tip extensions can be discreetly placed in the hair because there is no bead that is needed to secure the strand to the hair. How it works is the keratin extension bond is warmed up and then wrapped securely around a section on the clients natural hair. This extension will naturally grow out over the course of a few months, then will need to be removed and replaced with new hair. How is it removed?
