A PLACE TO VISIT WHILE IN IRELAND Good Morning to you All From Glenties in County Donegal

Murrisk Abbey in Mayo is beautifully situated on the shores of Clew Bay and in the shadow of the majestic Croagh Patrick. The abbey was founded about 1456 by the Augustinian friars because ‘the inhabitants of those parts have not hitherto been instructed in the faith’. The land was granted to the friars by Hugh O’Malley, a local Gaelic chieftain. The ruins consist of an L-shaped building, representing the church, sacristy and chapter room where the Friars met to discuss business and read daily the chapter of the order’s rule.

For those that have not had a chance, please respond before this Saturday so that I can send you out the invitation details. The meeting will be held using Zoom so participants can join either via a computer/smart phone or a home phone line. Using a computer with a camera or smart phone will allow you to view the financial statement that will be shared. If using a ...home phone line this is not possible however you can ask questions and details will be provided.
