The Brandon Camera Club is once again preparing for the upcoming season. Over the past years the Club has met at the Crocus Plains School Lecture Theatre in Brandon on the first and third Mondays of the month. Starting in March of 2020 the meetings were held over the Zoom platform and they ran very smoothly. Teaching sessions, Tips and Tricks, Shows and Challenges were highly inspirational. We will be continuing along the same lines over the next months. New members along with previous members are welcome. So while we won't be meeting in person for the meetings, we still have a lot to offer. Stay tuned and keep on shooting. "See" you in September.

Canola season is quickly coming to an end. If you haven't been out to see this yellow glory, you'll need to act quickly. Blue skies, yellow canola - what a great way to show summer in Manitoba

The last challenge of the 2019-2020 year was Animals. These bear cubs got the nod to move into the finalists of the year. I’ve waited years to capture cubs up in the tree tops and am very happy with this shot of these little gaffers. There were many inspiring images of animals shown - terrific work everyone.

Can you believe it, we are at the final BCC formal club meeting on Monday June 1st? (Zoom meeting). Jodie will send an email just prior to the meeting with the sign-in information. Monday, June 15th was the date that we had planned on doing our Season Finale? The original plan was to do the annual Sip n Shoot, having supper at The Dock, and then shoot around The Riverbank Discovery Centre. Of course, times have changed since that original plan. We want to have everyone ...feel as comfortable as possible as well as take social distancing into consideration, so please consider the following options so that we can make our decision at Monday’s meeting: a) Make a reservation for inside dining somewhere, such as The Dock, or Montana’s (it’s close to the RBDC), followed by a shoot b) Make a reservation for patio dining somewhere such as The Dock, Montana’s, Canad Inn (I am just looking for a place with a bigger patio), followed by a shoot c) Have a picnic at the RBDC and then shoot d) Do a photo outing to somewhere, perhaps on a different day. e) Any other ideas? If we are making a reservation somewhere, we would need to know who is planning on attending in order to meet the Provincial criteria so keep that in mind. I would think a reservation for anywhere would have to be made in good time. The program is as follows: Monday, June 1/20 Via ZOOM Tips n TricksStino Show and TellLogos/Signatures Presentation/InstructionStino will take us for a spin, giving us insight into Air Show photography including Do’s and Don’ts. ChallengeAnimals/Birds4 images (submit at 72 dpi via email to Jodie prior) ChallengeOpen/Your Choice4 images (submit s/a) Strut Your Stuff Monday, June 15/20 Original Plans: Sip and Shoot meet at The Dock at 1133 Princess Avenue at 6 PM for supper. We will then head to the Discovery Centre for a shoot. Open for discussion. Pick up for your pictures at The Art Gallery is Wednesday, June 3, 1-4 pm.
