Flu shots Influenza immunization will begin on October 21st. In an effort to adhere to public health guidelines pertaining to mass gatherings and physical distancing flu shots will be done by booked appointments only. In an effort to help get as many people vaccinated as possible we are accommodating family members that are not our regular patients. Announcement regarding flu shots: We have received numerous telephone calls over the last week inquiring about flu shots. At this time we have not received any information from Western Health as to the exact date of when the vaccine will be available to us. They are expecting it to be the latter part of this month.... We will be holding flu shot clinics in the evening when it becomes available. As soon as we have more definitive information another announcement will be sent out with updated details. It is with mixed emotions (sad for us/happy for her) that we announce the retirement of one of our wonderful staff members. Judy, you have been with us from the day we opened our doors 12.5 years ago and the clinic will not be the same without you. You have been a dedicated employee, a wonderful co-worker, and a caring receptionist to many patients. Your presence will be missed immensely by physicians, staff and patients. Update: We are happy to announce that all our reception staff are now back in office and our phones have been turned back on. Cell phones are being discontinued and going forward we ask you please call the our office number 639-5920 to reach your receptionist. If you need to come to the office please wear a mask. One can be provided if you do not have one.

Clinic Update: As we increase our number of in person appointments we would like to advise patients of the following changes. - masks are mandatory to be worn upon entering the building. Masks can only be removed if instructed by your physician when you are in an exam room. We ask patients to wear their own homemade masks where possible, if you do not own one we will provide you with one. ... - Unless an escort is necessary we ask that only the person with the scheduled appointment come into the clinic. All others will be asked to wait in their vehicle. We have a very limited amount of seating in the waiting area and can only accommodate those seeing the doctor. - Please do not arrive early for your appointment. Anyone arriving more than 5 minutes before their appointment time will be asked to go back to their car. Again this is due to waiting room capacity. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Important New Update Those of you who have an upcoming appointment in the next few days may have noticed that you have received a reminder about your future appointment. We are excited to announce that over the weekend we launched a new clinic portal called Health Myself. This secure patient portal has many great features, some of which include: -booking and canceling your appointments online. -Receiving reminders about your upcoming appointments.... -Tracking past and future appointments -Secure messaging with reception staff. -Updating demographic information, such as address, telephone numbers, and email address While we do love hearing directly from our patients we also understand that telephone wait times can vary, which can be inconvenient if you are calling while at work or during a busy time. This new portal will now allow you the flexibility to arrange your own appointments without the wait. The secure messaging feature can be used by our staff to notify you of an upcoming appointment with the hospital or a specialist. Or to let you know that your doctor would like to see you regarding recent tests you’ve had completed. This is a two way messaging system so it can also be used by you to request information from us. Maybe you lost a requisition and need a new. Or you have a file that you would like to send us to attach to your chart for the doctor to complete/review. This can all be done securely through the patient portal. We do understand that everyone’s needs and resources are not the same and this may not be a feature that all patients will want to avail of. However, we do encourage everyone who can to sign up even if you do not wish to use the online booking tool as it will give us the opportunity to reach you for important mass clinic announcements such as cancellations due to snow days; flu shot clinic information; etc. This portal in no way replaces our valuable clinic staff and we do encourage you to continue to contact them if this is not a feature you find valuable to your situation. It’s a different year for us celebrating Administrative Professionals Day with all our staff working separately from their homes. March 23, 2020 Important clinic changes: In an effort to comply with social distancing and the safety of our staff, we have made some changes to allow our staff to work from different locations where necessary. To reach Mandy for Dr. Callahan and Dr. Ryan please call 660-7258 To reach Judy for Dr. Smallwood and Dr. Gunson please call 660-7071 All physicians will continue to provide regular care to their patients via telephone/virtual care where possible. Please continue to call the numbers above to book your telephone appointments. If your doctor feels you need to be seen in person after you have had a telephone consultation you will then be scheduled to be seen in clinic at a time that is safe for you to do so. We ask that you please have patience with our staff as these cell phone numbers will only allow them to take one call at a time. We understand that these are unprecedented times and things are changing daily. Please rest assured we are doing everything we can to still provide you with the best possible care during this time.
