On Friday I visited the Masjid Al-Noor: a mosque in my riding of Surrey-Whalley. I spoke with members of the congregation as they entered for prayers. The leaders invited me to address briefly the congregation about the work John Horgan and the BC NDP have done and will continue to do to make life more affordable for BC families

Today, I was honoured to take part in the first concrete pouring ceremony for the Masjid Aulia Allah. I remember going to events in their converted house throughout the years. I want to congratulate the congregation for realizing its dream to build a much expanded new mosque with community space.

John Horgan joined Surrey BCNDP candidates to take part in this conversation with Surrey Community leaders working to support families, seniors, and new immigrants in the community.

I asked some of the volunteers on my campaign why they decided to step up and volunteer some of their time to help out. Meet Sheila Raikadroka. I am a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Surrey Memorial Hospital. After witnessing years of eroding healthcare under the Liberal government, I felt I needed to do my part in volunteering for a progressive candidate and government in 2017 and volunteered for Bruce's campaign. In just 3 short years, our health care system has seen significant improvements in care and wait times under the NDP. The work is not finished. I am volunteering again because I have seen first hand the need to continue in this positive direction especially in these Covid conditions. The NDP are the party that are making significant investments in healthcare and other areas to improve the lives of British Colombians.

We've made great strides to improve cancer care, treatment, and diagnosis in the last 3 years. If re-elected, we'll deliver better cancer care for people and make BC a world-leader in care. https://www.bcndp.ca/platform
