It is very difficult for me to have to post this but the Burlington Kennel Club Show for 2020 has been cancelled. This was a very difficult decision but because there where numerous complaints against us putting on the show the West Niagara Bylaw Enforcement has shut us down. To the complainers, whoever they may be karma is a bitch and I hope it bites you in the ass !!

I am asking everyone who will be exhibiting dogs at our show to follow all the social distancing protocols and make sure you wear your masks. There is ABSOLUTELY NO SPECTATORS ON THE GROUNDS. This includes folks who's dogs are being handled professionally. You CAN NOT stand at ringside and watch. Doing so takes away from the guidelines and from the people who need to be on site to exhibit their own dogs...PLEASE PLEASE help us to make this a safe and enjoyable show for all

The Burlington Kennel & Obedience Club is pleased to announce that we are officially moving our show from the Beverley Community Centre in Rockton, to the brand new West Niagara Fair Grounds in Smithville, Ontario. This new facility will provide us with a large indoor space, as well as space to have other events such as Herding Trials, many Specialties and perhaps we might even reintroduce Obedience Trials once we get past our first year in the new location. Some of the things we have been working on to stay within the guidelines of social distancing etc. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO INDOOR GROOMING Exhibitors will need to provide their own outdoor shelter Mask will be MANDATORY when inside the show building and exhibiting your dogs and there will not be any more than 50 inside at one time. This will also be SHOW AND GO. No lingering inside the building once you have shown your dog unless you need to more forward in the competition. Still more to come, we are working on it !!

Hi folks. It is still unsure whether or not we will be able to hold our show at the end of September. We have discussed the issues before us such as social distancing and the wearing of masks and so many many other things that need to be addressed. Two of our judges have asked to be released from their contracts due to Covid 19 concerns..so we now must see if anyone is prepared to replace them. We will keep you informed

Well our 2019 show is now in the history books. I want to say thank you to our judges Sandy and Mike Gelinas, Sharon Derrick, Olga Gagne, Jocelyn Gagne, Andrea Robins, Heather Brennan and Dann Wilson. We held our FIRST ANNUAL Dogs of Asia theme show and it was very well received by many of the exhibitors. Club member and the person responsible for this theme is Leah Troisi and I cant thank her enough, decorations for the ring where beautiful.!! To all the exhibitors who attended our show HEARTFELT THANK YOU for supporting our club with your entries. Plans for 2020 are in the works and we hope to see you all again next year

Things are falling into place for our 2019 show. We are very excited about our first annual DOGS OF ASIA theme which will be judges by Olga Gagne. Entries close September 17 and I hope to see you there

Attention all Dog fanciers, CKC members, CKC directors, judges and especially dog club members . The Golden Retriever Club of Canada recently wrote CKC with ...concerns about an application for a kennel name that had considerable historical significance to the GRCC, but was in effect before kennel names could be permanently registered. The CKC admittedly misplaced the letters of protest and the kennel name was granted. We again wrote CKC registration committee once becoming aware of the name was granted and at a recent hearing they upheld the decision to grant the kennel name. The GRCC is considering a formal appeal at this time. We are sharing this post now to encourage ALL dog clubs to ensure you have protected ANY kennel name that has historical significance to your breed. Please share this post widely and if you have any questions feel free to contact me.
