Yesterday, we were at Burlington Trampoline and Tumbling to do baseline concussion testing with nearly 50 of their athletes. Getting a baseline measure of many different metrics allows us to better assess and manage a concussion, should an injury happen mid-season. Its baseline concussion testing time for many of our youth athletes! Baseline tests give us a measurement of an athletes ability to perform many tasks- memory, concentration, balance, grip strength, etc. We test the athletes over 12 different domains, and if the athlete sustains a concussion in-season, this baseline data gives us a lot of information to work from. We are thrilled to announce we have a new addition to our BSSC Team! Everyone meet Tara, our new Registered Massage Therapist! ... Here is a little bit about her! Tara holds a Massage Therapy Diploma from Trillium College and is an active member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She is passionate about massage therapy and truly believes the positive and rewarding effects massage therapy has on the body. She has been practicing in Burlington as an RMT for the past 6 years, in which time she has won The Burlington Readers Choice award for best massage therapist in Multiple years! After 12 years of healthcare experience, Tara decided to stay home and raise her 3 children, as well as pursue her dream of becoming a registered massage therapist. She has experience in a variety of different treatment styles including Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, sports massage, deep tissue and prenatal massage. Tara is committed to striving for excellence by maintaining her continuing education and giving the highest quality of care within her practice. Its Clinical Rounds tonight at Burlington Sports and Spine Clinic! Our entire staff gets together once a month on a Tuesday evening to learn from each other and improve our patient care. We stopped this process during the pandemic, and tonight will be our first Rounds back together. We are thankful for our open-concept physio space that allows us to conduct these Rounds with physical distancing measures in place.

Our staff Covid screening is just one of the ways were keeping Burlington Sports & Spine Clinic a safe place to be. Every staff member is screened, every shift. And every patient is screened, every appointment. Thank you for your cooperation as we navigate this new normal together.

We got a fancy new water dispenser in February. And then Covid happened. Weve had to take our fancy new water dispenser out of the front waiting area for now, but its patiently waiting in storage for a time when we can make our reception area more of what were used to.... In the meantime, the same smiling faces youre used to are here to greet you at reception. Kathy is at the desk today!
