Peace When I ponder the idea of the Peace of God in my life, my mind begins to flood, my heart gets full. As a long-time volunteer in the Healingrooms, this gift of God has been one of the most powerful weapons in the process of healing. When people are going through pain in their lives, whether it is physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually they quite often are stuck in a place of unrest while they try to process what is really going on with their life. God’s peac...e, in Philippians, called the ‘Peace that passes all understanding’; has been a mainstay in helping people out of their difficulties. In John 14:27, Jesus prays that this ‘Peace he leaves with us, not as the world gives but as our father in heaven gives’. Often when I start praying for someone I will start by praying for Peace. The presence of God manifests on a person in the form of Peace and immediately the person is aware that God is with them. Peace is the calmness that comes in the midst of a storm. Some have described this ‘as the eye of the storm’. Everything is spinning and swirling, but somehow there is an awareness that everything is going to work out. This place of peace allows a person to be able to look at their situation from a place that Father God is with them. The truth about God’s will for their healing and what that process is going to look like is more easily looked at with the absence of anxiety, panic, heaviness and so on. The heart of the person receiving healing begins to open up to be able to receive. In my own life, the Peace of God has led me out of many difficulties also. Peace which is listed as one of the ‘Fruits of the Spirit’ has manifested many times as I have quieted my heart to invite God to help me through stormy situations. Peace is willing to take me through family difficulties, work situations, and even processes in my own heart. Peace works hand in hand with trust, when we place our trust in God and move our hearts away from fear, Peace finds its way as ruler of our lives. As the Bible states, Jesus is the ‘Prince of Peace’. Is. 9:6 Is. 26:3, says ‘You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You’. As we grow in our recognition of the need to seek His peace, we find that as we allow his Peace into our hearts, we can follow the path of Colossians 3:15 ‘Let the Peace of God, rule is your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

Something that has been on my heart recently. Maturing Sons and Daughters A perspective on the heart of God, in my experience, is that the Father of our lives is in a state of bringing His sons and daughters to maturity.... The church has been awakened to the love of God through the revelation of Father God, the lover of our souls, full of Grace, full of Mercy, full of Kindness; breaking religious frameworks that have been built up for generation upon generation. The image that stands out to me is of the chains being broken in the prison where Paul and Silas were worshipping in the middle of the night. The cell doors were opened, prisoners were released. Those guilty, those wrongly accused, those who were partly at fault and maybe misunderstood were all released simultaneously. This is Grace, this is Mercy, this is Kindness. The contradiction here-in is that we expect that the guilty be held accountable and responsible for their actions. In fact it is the kindness of God that leads us to repentance. Gods willingness here to allow the guilty to go free is speaking volumes, it is like He is yelling to us. He is saying in essence, let the guilty go free and tell them it is Me who has released them, it is Me who has pardoned them. For many of us the gift of forgiveness has been hard to receive in our own lives, let alone apply to the lives of others who we see failing, falling short, stumbling or just being overtly obnoxious in their walk with Christ. But he is gracious, loving and kind. This is where the maturing of the Father steps in to comfort us, encourage us, and lead us to a place where we are able to receive the correction that comes at such a deep level of conviction, wrapped in his care for us that we cannot help but be changed. Mindsets, behaviors and perceptions that keep us from really showing others who we are, are beginning to come down. The grace that has been shown to us, we begin to show others. Shame and fear are dismantled where there is forgiveness and acceptance. I am living this, I am challenged by this daily but I am free.
