Franks is hiring for 2021 season! Anticipated opening date is May 3, 2021. We close on the last Sunday in September. Stage one of the hiring process is to reach out to Franks followers. Do you know someone looking for a summer or seasonal job? As followers, you know Franks is a small, family run eatery serving burgers, hot dogs, fries, ice cream and Cambridge-famous milkshakes in a park setting in downtown Galt. Positions will include various duties from taking orders, s...cooping ice cream, making shakes, cooking, packaging food, customer service, and keeping the dishes, building and outside area clean and organized. All 15 years old and above welcome to apply. Cooks should have food safety knowledge, ability to perform in a fast-paced, hot environment and the ability to orchestrate the accurate completion of orders (i.e. all food items ready together). All applicants must be Covid-alert and willing to keep themselves as healthy as possible while away from Franks. Today is Giving Tuesday! As we head into a festive holiday season we will see images of symbolic Christmas foods: the pineapple for 'welcome', the pomegranate for 'life and prosperity', the orange for 'good fortune, luxury during meager times'. For many, Covid has forced unlikely people and families to turn to Food Banks to provide the basic needs for themselves and their children. Food insecurity is real. If you're looking for a local charity to support this holiday season, consider a drop off of non-perishable goods or cash/cheque to the Cambridge Food Bank. Every donation is useful and appreciated. I have had some requests for menu pictures. I took these yesterday so they are up to date. We are having trouble sourcing root beer but everything else is in stock and ready to go! Have a great weekend Franks followers!

Happy Friday!! Just a couple of bits of information as we head into the weekend: Cones are back! We have regular and waffle cones available, delivered to you in an acrylic holder. Cups are still available!! We now accept debit. We ask that you use it for minimum purchases of $5. Please do not insert a credit card. We prefer not to deal with all the fees and paperwork associated with credit.... Please follow the one way traffic at the order window. We have watched as some customers make an order and then exit through the 'enter' line, or they pick up food at the rear and for some reason, battle their way through the line to get back to the road??! There is an exit on both sides of the back waiting area. Lastly, we want to send a shout out to our staff! They have been energetic and enthused even when the weather and pace has sweat running down their backs!!! We are so fortunate to have our experienced staff back for this very uncertain season!! Thanks to all of them!!!

We would like to send out a huge thank you to our staff and customers for raising $514.53 and a large hamper of non-perishable foods for the Cambridge Food Bank on July 1st. It is amazing to see a community come together and support a worthy cause! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Canada Day is Food Bank Day at Frank's! All of Wednesday, July 1st tips will be donated to Cambridge Food Bank. Want to help feed our city? Drop off a food item to our collection bin (especially needed are proteins like peanut butter, canned fish, baby formula, pasta and rice) or drop your spare change in the yellow mustard jar. Don't forget the shops are closed on Canada Day so add an item or two to your weekend shopping! Together, we can make a difference! Happy Canada Day!!

Happy weekend Franks followers! Normally I wouldn't respond to complaints through a post but I felt this one was important to address: our ice cream sizes have not decreased. In fact, the sizes are the same as they have been since 1993. We offer kiddie, regular and large. Kiddie is 3 ounces (one and a half scoops), regular is 5.5 ounces (two and a half scoops) and large is 7.5 ounces (three and a half scoops). While we do not weigh every serving, we do random audit weigh...ts to ensure our average scoop weighs 2 ounces. All of our staff pride themselves on the ability to scoop with accuracy. Our only change is the discontinuation of cones through Covid measures...a cup and a spoon limits our contact with your treat. If anyone ever feels that they have been served a less than accurate ice cream, please bring it to our attention in the moment and we will be happy to verify and fix. I am sorry that this customer feels Franks would ever do anything 'shameful', as they put it. Our reputation in the community is far more important to us than skimping on the past sizes of our ice cream. Everyone stay safe! Remember to distance in line, and while waiting! Happy Saturday Morning Franks Nation! During our busy opening many of you noticed that our tip jar committed 100% of tips to the Cambridge Food Bank. We are proud and excited to announce that the generosity of loyal Franks patrons raised $613 for a very worthy cause! Thank you all!!! We also want to remind our valued customers that social distancing is an important measure to control the potential spread of infection. While in line, while waiting for your order, and when... you pick a spot to place your picnic blanket or lawn chair, an easy rule of thumb is to allow a minimum of 6 feet apart unless you live in the same house. Please honour the distancing signs and the ice cream cone place markers in the waiting area. We can't thank you enough for the support, enthusiasm and kindness that you have shown while waiting patiently for your turn in line. The slower pace is an effort to control the amount of customers waiting out back. Lastly, two important details to bring to your attention: our hours are 12-8 this season until further notice, and we accept cash and debit. We are not accepting credit cards. Thank you! Thank you!!! As one customer put it, "It took a global pandemic for Franks to get a debit machine!" It's true! Cash or debit (NO CREDIT) and Canadian Tire Money as long as it is counted and bundled in $1 increments at least until there is a vaccine! Thank you for such a delightful opening! People have been so patient and kind. Please make sure you are respecting the social distance rules, both as you wait in line and once you are waiting out back for your food. Best practice is to wear a mask and please have one person come to the window and one person pick up food to limit the exposure of the public to our staff, and our staff to the public. Please note time change: 12 - 8pm
