SOUND OFF: A Deaf Theatre Festival was created in 2016 in response to a lack of opportunities for performing Canadian Deaf artists and the need for greater public awareness of the Deaf arts. It features readings, workshops, talk-backs, and salon panels and contributes to helping hearing audiences gain a better understanding of Deaf performers’ lived experiences. SOUND OFF: A Deaf Theatre Festival a été créé en 2016, en réaction à un manque de perspectives pour les artistes de la scène sourds du Canada, et pour sensibiliser plus de gens à leurs pratiques artistiques. Le festival présente des lectures-spectacles, des ateliers, des discussions et des tables rondes, et contribue à mieux faire comprendre les expériences vécues par les artistes de la scène sourds au public entendant. Join us in congratulating our latest #architecture prize winners! We’re happy to announce that Jonathan Kim is the recipient of the J.B.C. Watkins Award: Architecture. Jonathan is an architecture student pursuing graduate studies at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark. His current thesis investigations present a transformative timeline for the Faroe Islands, shifting the traditional fishery, aquaculture and processing industries towards the production of lab-...grown fish proteins.
