Growing up and living in a city with a huge pipeline presence and having a head office of a natural gas company Union Gas/Enbridge pipelines have always just seemed normal. My first and second job as an adult was in the natural gas and power industries. I know alot of people are working hard to protect the environment. Pipelines become a popular target during elections and polution/carbon emissions campaigns. I saw this post and thought it was worth a share.... I am not up for this challenge. I enjoy fuel to propel my vehicle and fuel to heat my home #naturalgas #pipelines #fuel

In August 2020, Western lost a beloved member of our community, Jocelyn McGlynn, after a courageous two-year battle with acute myelomonocytic leukemia. Jocelyn ...was a 4th-year med sci student, an aspiring doctor, and a dedicated sorority sister at Alpha Phi. After receiving the diagnosis, Jocelyn and her family organized multiple stem cell drives in hopes of finding a stem cell match for her and many other patients in need. Western Stem Cell Club had the honour of organizing a drive for Jocelyn in 2019, resulting in over 750 new registrants. Jocelyn showed her passion for the cause through drives, events, her social media page titled Win Rocky Win and her Robin Stemcells video on Youtube. As a result of Jocelyn and her family’s dedication, more than 2,000 people joined Canada’s stem cell registry and many patients now have an increased chance of finding a life-saving match. Her effort has touched and inspired so many people. We are dedicated to continuing Jocelyn’s fight to swab the world and find matches for more Canadians who are in need of a stem cell transplant. Her family and friends described her as kind, friendly, intelligent, athletic and creative. She was incredibly talented and had many hobbies including music, theatre, painting, baking, and cooking. In this post, we would like to share some photos of Jocelyn with her family and a quote from Jocelyn’s parents. This Fall, in honour of Jocelyn McGlynn, Western Stem Cell Club introduces the 'I’m In for Jocelyn' online stem cell drive. Stay tuned on our Facebook page for more details to come. Find out more information about Jocelyn’s story by visiting her Win Rocky Win Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Win.Rocky.Win.joc.VS.leukemia/

Have you seen the signs and ads "We buy gold", "Gold for cash", etc.? Some background: In 1933, under President FDR, the private ownership of gold and gold cer...tificates was prohibited. The alleged purpose was to facilitate an increase in the money supply. The price of gold held at $35 per ounce until 1971, when, President Nixon announced that the US would no longer convert dollars to gold at a fixed value, thus completely abandoning the gold standard. That 1971 announcement facilitated the biggest Ponzi scheme imaginable, "fractional lending", that in turn eroded the value of promissory notes, commonly known as "money". While the volume of products and services increased since then, that increase did not match the volume of promissory notes chasing those goods and services. The trend is expected to continue and to accelerate as electronic finance provides politicians and banks with the opportunity to accelerate their national and international Ponzi scheme. Since 1971, when the gold standard was abandoned for the USD, the price of an ounce of gold has increased from $35 to the current $2,000 in terms of USD - an increase that amounts to an average annual compound rate of 8.607%, and is suggestive of the discount rate that suggestive of the actual value-erosion rate of promissory notes, aka "money", "dollar", etc. and is far above the current and temporary politically adjusted published inflation rate. Over the years, I've often heard and seen the "talking head", self-described "advisors" falsely pitch that the amount of life insurance needed down the road will decline substantially over the years "as the kids leave the house", etc. The LifeGuide graphic illustration below illustrates the purchasing power of $1,000,000 after 20 years assuming the same decline in the value of money as experienced relative to the price of gold during the 49-year period 1971-2020. In terms of actual economic value, a "level" death benefit translates to a reducing amount. I'd suggest that published, politically adjusted, inflation rates may be inadequate for the discount rate. Time for the re-emergence of indexed DB life insurance products, but don't hold your breath.
