We have now reached the point in the winter where the weather is best described by locals as "disrespectful". With night time temperatures ranging between -30 and -40, the best thing to do is sleep in and spend the day curled up on the couch with a hot drink. Because, let's be honest, your car probably wouldn't start anyway. What's the weather like where you are?

It can be so easy to take where you live for granted. Living here in Atikokan, we sometimes forget just how incredible it is for us to see wildlife on such a regular basis; sometimes literally in our backyards! Winter is really trying to set in here now, but that's not stopping us from getting out on the water! We might as well take every chance we can get now before the lakes really freeze over.

Well, it looks like winter is trying to set in here now. Jeremy took this photo at Sawbill the other day. There is something incredibly beautiful about the first few snowfalls of the year.

It has been a great priveledge to be able to stay open this summer for the few people who were still able to come and enjoy the Quetico wilderness.
