If a kayak sings on the river will anybody hear? Yes, even in an era where singing is prohibited, there is a place where freedom reigns! Canoeing The Grand has nothing to do with this beautiful production but it warmed us to our cockles and our paddles! So it was meant to be shared!

All of the staff were so sad to learn of Waterloo Region’s toughest little cookie’s passing. Sweet Abigayle Lobsinger our hearts are broken for your family. You were always so brave and taught our community so much about spirit and love. Biggest hugs and heartfelt sorrow for the loss of your little foo-fighter dearest Lobsingers: Your devoted courage and candid updates were heavy reminders of what is most important. I searched all my photos to find the one of Abigayle and I hugging, and teary eyed I can not find it. However sweet angel I still remember your tiny frame, the way you kept yourself so straight and strong;It was a marvel to me that such a tiny creature had endured so much. Fly high little angel. We will take good care of your mommy and daddy, and no one will forget how your short life changed them or our community.

I can not begin to say thank you enough to my beloved and loyal staff or to our fantastic customers! It is hard to believe that we are still canoeing in November. .....But then again what hasn’t been crazy about this year? 2020 is a year I won’t soon forget both for it’s challenges and for the grace that I have witnessed. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate each of you for the patronage, for the lessons and for the love!

Summer is coming to an end, but fun on the river doesn't have to stop! We're open until Thanksgiving so come check out the changing fall colours! We're looking forward to your visit!!

Just thrilled by the visit from the Hertle family. They are the original family that owned my business property, ...at one time a pastoral farm along our beautiful river. Our visit was so short but I can’t wait for a quiet time to hear the tales of every inch of our humble office. I love that the same fishing pillar enjoyed by Mr. Hertle as a young boy, some 70 years ago, is still a coveted perch for anglers today. Blessed today in so many ways!

Not an easy day but our new big rig was put to the test!

Happy Father’s Day To dads everywhere! The worst part about working hard on holidays like Father’s Day, is the not being able to spend it with your own dad. To my dad who I adore above all, And big thanks to all of the families that shared their time and dad-love with us today! Thank you, we think dads are pretty special!

Two things that made me smile this morning, new friends gliding through the river to my shore celebrating a special anniversary, then happening upon a gaggle of teen geese exploring the water’s edge, no adult geese within 1500 feet. It was with a glance to my right that I saw a group of adults on dry top island no doubt requiring some social distance from their teen goslings!

Today we put our favourite guide onto the river (with favourite photographer). Although we want to open, your safety and the safety of our staff and community is of the utmost importance. But that doesn’t mean that we are not excited to start, or that we are not busy making sure we can get you into the wide open space safely. The sun shone especially bright today on our little red canoe; as confusing as the covid era is, my heart sang a little as I sent these two friends on the first voyage down river. Stay safe, and remember us when you test your toes in freedom! We will be waiting to serve you!

We have had many calls and emails asking if we are open yet. We are not. Although we are very excited to be offering trips, we will not be opening until it is safe for you, our customer, and for staff. Please know we are working hard to implement safe practices and standards to protect each of you/us when we are allowed to open. We want to be a part of your plans to be in open space and part of your reclaim of the freedom we all miss. Paddles crossed that this is soon!

My heart sung today with a little sparkle of hope as I processed a gift certificate order today. Thank you local friend! Can not wait to see your family on the river. We are not open but Gift certificates are available! Ox

I am heartbroken to say that approx 50 of my tubes have been found, all gutted and floating down an inaccessible section of the river. All I can think of is how little value my trailer was in comparison to what was destroyed.

We now have witnesses that have see our tubes floating in the river near Delhi. If anyone has seen anything please let us know. We have narrowed down the exact time that the culprits left and now thanks to my eagle eyed daughter we also now know that they did not travel north past Hefner Toyota but turned brazenly in front of traffic in a very wide and quick turn. The entered our drive at 12:34 and left by 12.39. Our trailer is not easy to move; they knew what they were doing. Please share!

To friends that have been so lovely to share our latest challenge, some pictures of the missing trailer. Licence plate P8525y. *update, a large sUV entered our lot 12:34 am. So we have narrowed the time of theft.

I am so very upset to report that this morning my utility trailer full of all of my Tubing The Grand Labeled tubes and several other rafts/paddles etc was stolen from our lot between the hours of 8:15 and 9 am this morning by someone knew what they were doing. If anyone was by our lot and saw anything suspicious or if you see/hear of anyone fencing/ridding themselves of tubes/rafts please call police.
