We will continue to advocate for stronger vaping legislation in New Brunswick with a goal to reduce the number of young people who become addicted to nicotine through e-cigarettes. Currently, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island have passed legislation to reduce the appeal of vaping, introducing flavour bans and a nicotine ceiling on products.

It can be difficult to watch a friend smoke when we know the negative effects of smoking tobacco, including its connection to cancer risk. When a loved one decides to quit, having a caring and supportive friend by their side can make the quitting process more successful. Learn how you can be there for a friend on their journey to become smoke-free.
In 2020, Nova Scotia was the FIRST province to ban flavoured vaping products. We're very proud and thankful for this decision. It's a significant first step to addressing the troubling increase in youth vaping in the province. In honour of National Non-Smoking Week (January 15-21), we, along with our partners, give thanks for this achievement.
For people who need to travel away from home for cancer treatment, our lodges provide a place of comfort and support. We continue to work hard to support the health and safety of our lodge communities. Thank you Lug for your generous donation of face masks for our CCS lodge staff.
We believe Canadians faced with a cancer diagnosis should receive the time off they need to access care, heal and focus on recovery. With the average cancer treatment and physical recovery time for some of the most common cancers ranging from 11 to over 47 weeks, we know the current Employment Insurance Sickness Benefit coverage of 15 weeks is not enough. Join us in calling on the federal government to extend the sickness benefit from 15 to at least 26 weeks an important step forward that would bring the length of the benefit in line with the compassionate care benefit for caregivers. Learn more and see how together, we can advocate for change: https://bit.ly/3906oCt
