One decade has lapsed in front of us since this once perfectly ordinary day. It now it sticks up in the calendar like a rusty nail. If the day had gone as planned, it would have faded into the sky unmarked, swallowed without a trace along with the rest of the days in 2011. Charlene’s giving heart was the forefront of her evening on that warm February evening as she stopped to assist strangers. An act that would have repeated if given the chance as Charlene’s heart was wired ...that way. Her giving heart was part of who she was. A legacy that has been left. Time froze that evening and 10 years later we are left with the beautiful memories of Charlene. Growing old is a privilege denied to many. In loving memory of a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Charlene Reaveley, April 4 1980-February 19 2011. Forever remembered and loved.

We are so grateful for all the responses and items we have received so far. We are still collecting any unwanted items until January 7th. Have you had that awkward moment when you receive a gift and despite the giver’s best intentions, there are times when a gift is close-but-not-quite or even not-going-to-happen-ever? If you find yourself in either of those situations this Christmas, we have an easy and guilt-free way to re-gift those items!... It just so happens that we have an online auction coming up in the new year that is raising money to continue to offer services for grieving children and their families. If you would like to re-gift unused items in their original packaging or if you have other items/services that you would like to donate to CRCCS’s online auction, please -PM us -send and email to [email protected] -call 604-3396658. We can arrange for a contactless pick-up or drop off. Thank you for considering.

Is your office/ work place participating in a Christmas gift exchange this year? Get creative while giving back in the community Exchange names and buy that person the gift they would have played with when they were a child (were they creative? Lego... inquisitive? Science set... fashionista? Dress up clothes...)... Then, consider donating to the Charlene Reaveley Children’s Charity Annual Toy Drive and supporting grieving children in our communities

The Charlene Reaveley Children’s Charity 10th Annual Toy Drive is going well but still looking for your support before the cut-off on December 5th. For the past 10 years, CRCCS has wrapped thousands of gifts and delivered to families who have lost a loved one. With the restrictions of Covid-19 the collecting, wrapping and distributing will look a little different this year. There will no Annual Wrapping Event to adhere to limited contact with others. The tradition continue...s, and although we can't all be together during this event, we can still come together to help those families in our communities. Clients of CRCCS (local to the lower mainland) have submitted their ‘wish lists’ for their children and we are hopeful to fulfill all their requests. We have created an idea list of you are able to donate (contactless to a listed location). Monetary donations are greatly accepted to ensure individual requests are fulfilled. An official tax receipt will be mailed for any donation over $20. In years passed, any surplus donations are distributed to businesses who support grieving children and registered low-income housing. This will continue. You can make holiday dreams come true for grieving children and their families in our communities. Here’s how you can help: -Spread the word -Visit the CRCCS website to make a monetary donation.100% of your donation will put presents under the tree and a smile on a child’s face. -Donate any new, unused toys, gift cards to 1254 Burke Mountain Street, Coquitlam (Weekdays 8am-8pm). Members of the public are requested to wear masks when interacting with donation receiver. Receiver will be wearing a mask. Please knock or ring bell and then back up 6 feet. In grief and trauma, we often feel so isolated. The world seems to be moving on and does not recognize that we are in such a different place. We may look fine on the outside, what’s happening on the inside is a different story. -David Kessler

In memory of the men and women who offered their lives in defense of our country. Reflecting on all the children left behind and families torn apart for the price of our freedom.

We remain thankful for the great and ultimate sacrifices that were made, not just in this war, but in every war and conflict where our service personnel have fought - to ensure the liberty and freedoms that we now take for granted. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. Forever remembered.
