I remember the sign going up like it was yesterday

Dear Customers, It is with continued heartache I must announce Cheapies official, permanent closing date of Tuesday March 17th 2020 at 6:00pm. My thanks to all my past and present customers for their special, unique and extraordinary stories you've shared with me in person and on social media that involved Cheapies over the last month.... You've made the past 42 years I've operated my stores in Downtown Hamilton extremely rewarding, with endless great memories. My 28 year old boy sent me this email after the first weekend announcing Cheapies closure. "Really cool to see and hear everyone's stories and close relationships to the store. I hope it makes you realize you did a lot of great things for a lot of people and Hamilton. You didn't waste your life!" I'd like to thank my current staff for sticking with me to the end, after I revealed the shocking news to them in early February. I couldn't have closed the store in the fashion I did without them. Please accept my deepest apologies for taking Cheapies away from so many loyal and special customers and thank you to all my customers over the years for providing me a means of supporting my family since I opened my first store in 1978.
