Some time a while back Dale Janzen of Chinchaga Bullets sent me a 100 pc box of his 6.5mm 165 gr gr RBT ULD CT bullets to test in my 6.5 Prometheus wildcat, I e...nded up sending 50 pcs to Bryan Litz at Applied Ballistics for BC testing and the results were G1 at .627 and G7 at .320, Shot some for load workup and accuracy at 100 yards was phenomenal with 3 shot groups at 1/2" and less with my limited testing, using US869 powder in a 26" 8.5 tw Brux barrel I reached 3400 fps but never completed my testing due to sub zero temps and high winds at the time, will be revisiting these bullets along with the 155 gr and 170 gr for the final testing phase, Dale has 6.5mm bullets from 140 gr up to 174 gr and I plan on shooting them all eventually This time around they will be flying from an 8 twist 5R 30" Bartlein barrel chambered in my 6.5 Skuldryl wildcat and have a 7 tw 5R Rock Creek barrel coming for it as well, gonna be fun.....

getting it done at 900 yards today. first time with my 25 ldh. shooting 140 gr chinchaga's at 2950 fps. stiller action, jury barrel, jewell trigger, stock and... smith work by bob galloway @ custom gunworx, rest by team jw, bags by protektor, (imported by me),bench by eddy k and team jw, gong by team jw. had 15 rds to play with. after a couple adjustments for elevation didn't do too bad. group on the far right was from 308 @ 640 m yesterday. time to load up a 100 and head for the trosty farky in kamloops! Sept 16th, 2017 on Saturday I got an opportunity to test the 338 caliber 325 gr Chinchaga Rebated Boat Tail Steel Tip (RBTST) bullet on a 6 ft 2" Alaskan black ...bear at 530 yards off my shooting post I set up on the Rock Stand, I was shooting my wildcat the 338 Precision Rifled Ordnance with 95.5 gr of Reloder 33 behind the 325 gr bullet lit up by a Federal 215 Magnum primer at 2725 fps, when the bullet smacked the bear he'd turned slightly to his left while munching on blueberries and the impact was a bit further behind the shoulder than I had wanted but the exit was perfect, the bear sort of jumped and fell on his face and it was over, his boiler room/operating system was obliterated as the bullet expanded in the chest cavity then the remainder of the bullet blew out the other side creating massive blood trauma with a fist size chunk of lung on the turf where the bullet plowed into , absolutely perfect bullet performance ...... Here is the video I promised to do at the end of the first 338 PRO video.... featuring the Chinchaga 325 gr RBT ST Hybrid bullets with Reloder 33 powder and... Federal 215 Mag primers , these bullets are extremely uniform and the Standard Deviation shows up in low single digits and very good accuracy, BC's are not yet verified and I won't post program generated false magnified numbers, the 300 gr version was tested by Applied Ballistics and came in at .754 g1 bc (.385 g7 ) so I'm hoping for at least .800 bc, the 325 gr bullets were sent to Applied Ballistics for testing and I will post the results when I get them ... This will definitely be an outstanding moose stomping bullet and I will most likely be using it for the 2017 fall moose hunting season here in Alaska ............... got more bullet tests coming up and next will be the 265 gr Barnes LRX and Reloder 26 powder with some cool results, stay tuned and until next time ......
