Christmas in Merrickville 10.12.2020

We are pleased to confirm Christmas in Merrickville will be held on December 5th & 6th. However, this year due to COVID-19 it will be scaled down. December 5th most stores will be open till 7PM and also open on the 6th. During these two days, visitors will have an opportunity to enter their name for a Shopping Spree Contest, bid at a Silent Auction at the Knock Knock Shoppe 111, St-Lawrence, and view the stores at their finest thanks to a Business Decoration Contest. The Mer...rickville Chamber of Commerce will be decorating throughout the village and the giant Christmas Tree will be lit behind the new Merrickville Square (corner Main and St Lawrence). Unfortunately, unlike previous years there will be NO tree lighting ceremony. On December 5th our local Lion's Club starting at 1pm will be doing their customary Cider stand on St. Lawrence Street beside the Christmas Store. Mountain of Food from 1pm to 4pm will be located in front of the Food Market, 205 St-Lawrence December 5th. Food donations will be accepted all day! Our shopkeepers will be opened on December 5th from 11am to 7pm and December 6th from 11am to 5pm Restaurateurs will be thrilled to welcome you to the village. Unfortunately, to comply with Health Department guidelines regarding COVID-19, No Santa parade will be held and NO hot dogs or hot chocolate will be available nor will bonfires be lit, NO wagon ride nor magician either. St Lawrence will also be open to regular traffic.

Christmas in Merrickville 2019 was another great success. As in past years, CiM has chosen charities to support. The Food Cupboard is a charity that we support each year to assist those in Merrickville-Wolford. I had the privilege of presenting this year’s cheque in the amount of $1,000.00 to the entire Board of the Rideau Community Health Services. Thank you... Mark Scullino Chair, 2019 CiM See more
