CircoFit 15.02.2021

Hi Circuslings! We’ve come to the decision that we will be holding out until Step 2 (<450 hospitalizations), which indicates further easing of indoor fitness. Hopefully Step 2 will allow us to operate within the restrictions we had in the fall of 2020. While our members are eager to get back in the air, one-on-one classes has never been a big part of our business model. Private lessons are expensive because we need to cover the coach’s wage. Even if we charge only that amount, we will only have a handful of students interested in paying for one or two of these sessions. It doesn’t fit with our values to only open up to those select few. #StayHome #StaySafe #yegfitness @youralberta

Hey Circuslings! Feb 8th brings some easing of restrictions in our industry. (Step 1 of Alberta relaunch plan.) It’s exciting news, BUT at first glance it looks as though our low capacity open training format from July-December doesn’t fit the new policy.... We’ll once again be taking the weekend to consider our options. No memberships will be restarted without adequate notice and the option to opt in or out. See more

CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE To our current members, all of the memberships are now paused. Remaining time on your current pay period will be automatically credited to your next payment. We have heard that several of you would like to continue to support us with membership fees, however I feel it is important that this is on a strictly opt in basis. Therefore, we will run a new small Boostr campaign that you can donate to if you wish. Details TBA. For anyone waitin...g for response to email inquiries, thank you for your patience as we’ve been navigating our 3rd change to industry restrictions in the last 4 weeks. Each change has required all of us in the fitness industry to interpret vague new rules on short notice, write new Covid plans, and implement the changes immediately. Our members will always come first, and our general administrative duties have taken a back seat these last few weeks. I know there are many future circuslings waiting to hear back from us. I will strive to respond to everyone by end of day Tuesday. Lastly, let’s do something fun on our IG for the rest of December! INTRODUCE US TO YOUR PETS! Send us a picture, their name(s), age(s), favourite treats/toys/activities, and anything quirky you’d like the world to know about them. We’ll share as many as we can. See more

The announcement is still in progress, but this is what we know: Our last day of open training will be this Friday, Dec 11. We will be CLOSED starting Dec 13 until further notice (for a minimum of 4 weeks). We will update current members about their memberships within the next few days.... Thank you for your continued support! Please support your local businesses when buying gifts and necessities. Stay home, stay safe, and keep strong! See more

This is what training looks like in our facility these days. Some amazing conversations and comradery to be had still from 12-20 feet away with masks. #farapartbutcloseatheart #yegfitness #yeg #community

Winter celebrations are going to look a little different this year. Decided our window decorations should reflect that, too. Thank you to all healthcare workers and essential workers. #staysafe #yeg #yyc #alberta

Nov 13-27, no indoor group fitness classes. Training times tonight for Team Dragon are a GO. Training times tomorrow for Team Unicorn are cancelled. We will be waiting to see if they provide more details and definitions before we make any further announcements.

Hi Circuslings, Meghan here. On Nov 12th, the Alberta Government announced new restrictions in our industry. Friday classes were cancelled to give me enough time to interpret the new rules. While what we have been doing so far - open training, members only, with no equipment sharing - qualifies as "individual sport" and is therefore acceptable according to the new restrictions, I’ve decided to increase our covid measures in the following ways: Reduce capacity to from 6 poi...nts to 4 points Mark zones on floor to indicate where each member should stay when NOT on equipment Mandatory masks by staff and members AT ALL TIMES when in facility No staff demonstrations or spotting/contact (except for rescues) These additional mitigation strategies will be part of our Covid Plan and gym policies until further notice, effective immediately. We have added an extra Unicorn Cohort class on Tuesdays and Fridays @ 1pm. Over the last couple months, I’ve heard from many of you that CircoFit is your coping mechanism. Many of you are healthcare workers that are experiencing burnout due to the stress that Covid and our provincial gov’t have put on our healthcare system. Unfortunately, with current caseloads, I expect that our industry will be mandated for a complete shut down again within a few weeks. CircoFit will do whatever we can to be there for you, whether in person or over video chat. Thank you for your hard work and dedication in this horrible time. Stay safe, Friends, Meghan See more
