Now at home, she works to ensure the military has the aircrafts they need to accomplish their many missions. She has always set the example as a strong female soldier and leader. Let’s give a Hell Yeah for this Military Hero Kevin Townsend! Kevin is an amazing person who served our country for 2 tours in Afghanistan. He has since become a paramedic, and now serves the citizens of Calgary each day. Kevin is a great husband, father, friend, work partner and an everyday humble hero who deserves some recognition for the sacrifice he made and the service he provides. Lets give a Hell Yeah to this military Hero...Caitlyn Downey! Sailor Second Class Caitlyn Downey is a current serving member of HMCS Tecumseh (Naval Reserve unit in Calgary). She recently returned from a 6 month OP REASSURANCE deployment on HMCS Fredericton. This deployment was not only challenging due to the nature of the deployment, but also due to the COVID-19 restrictions placed on her and the crew as they were unable to leave the ship to prevent an outbreak among the c...rew. During the deployment this ship experienced a tragic loss of their helicopter when it unexpectedly crashed and killed 6 of Caitlyn’s shipmates, with whom she had built close friendships. Caitlyn completed this deployment throughout all these obstacles. She now holds a NATO article 5 medal, boarding party qualification, and gained significant experience and time at sea. Her perseverance through this challenging deployment is what makes her a hero! Hell Yeah Caitlyn! - Jesse and JD
