Dr. Monaghan will also be starting to do appointments virtually whenever possible. In some cases, your appointment may need to occur in person. These will be heavily restricted and all efforts will be made to conduct appointments virtually.... You will be contacted this week to confirm how your appointment will occur. If your appointment is conducted via telephone, please remember the call will be from a blocked number. In person appointments will be widely spaced out, with appropriate contact precautions and cleaning of the space between appointments. All patients will be screened by Jacinta before being permitted to enter the waiting room. To keep appropriate spacing in the waiting room, you may be asked to wait in your car until your appointment time. If you have any respiratory symptoms, or recent travel, your appointment cannot occur in person. ATTENTION DR MONAGHANS PRENATAL PATIENTS: In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Family Centred Maternity Care Group are actively brainstorming ways to mitigate the risk to our prenatal patients and their families. We are very open to modifying the traditional NL prenatal care visit schedule in favour of an alternate evidence-based visit schedule promoted by the World Health Organization, which suggests an initial visit to confirm pregnancy, followed by subsequent vi...sits at weeks 12, 20, 26, 30, 36, and 38. Our group would also like to maintain the 39 and 40 week visits for those who wish to do so for extra reassurance, since issues such as gestational hypertension or growth restriction might only declare themselves at this late gestation. Please know that if you are more comfortable with the traditional schedule or have another one to suggest, I am open to all suggestions and am happy to discuss at our next visit. SINNOTT In an effort to protect everyone and promote social distancing, Dr. Sinnott will be contacting all scheduled appointments via telephone in order to assess who needs to be seen in person and who can be supported without coming on site. If you have a scheduled appointment today or this week, please wait to hear from Dr. Sinnott before coming into the clinic.... This is to protect not just you but also with consideration of the high volume of pregnant folks and new babies that come into our clinic, who are some of the most susceptible to illness. Although government has not initiated any visit codes for us to do this yet, Clinic 215 recognizes the need to act now in order to prevent serious illness in our population. Please work with us on this as best as we all can. In the coming days we hope to also have capacity to set up video conferencing/telemedicine in order to continue providing the care we always have.
