Hello neighbours and Coloniale Residents! With the winter season setting in, our team wanted to send a friendly reminder that the golf course is closed to all recreational activities including skiing, walking (humans and dogs), tobogganing, etc. during the winter months. While we know things have been difficult for everyone and getting outside is so important right now; the golf course is private property and trespassing for any purpose is not permitted. There are a number... of reasons for the property being closed: -Safety: With snow cover, it is difficult to see unmarked hazards and obstacles like drainage/irrigation projects that could cause injury. Snow removal on the cart paths is not the same as the city and there are many icy spots. -Turf Damage: Our team works very hard to ensure the quality and health of our turf. A big part of that includes protecting it during the winter so that it can be in it’s best shape for the coming golf season. As seen in the pictures, non-golf winter usage is detrimental to the health of the turf and creates costly damage to the golf course. -Property Damage: The fences surrounding the many boundaries of the golf course are the property of the golf course. Fences can get damaged or broken if individuals are scaling fences, taking large toboggans or skis over fences not to mention the safety concerns. We ask that all individuals refrain from scaling or otherwise going over fences bordering the golf course.
