Krack WPA-2 Wireless Vulnerability If you have an iOS or MacOS powered device and haven’t run the latest round of Apple updates you should do them as soon as possible. Apple has released a series of security updates for MacOS 10.11, 10.12, 10.13 as well as iOS 11 to address the Krack vulnerability (and a long list of other CVE’s). Information about the security fixes rolled out with iOS 11.1: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT208222 Not sure if Krack and other vulnerabilities are still actively patched in iOS 10 and if your device supports it you might consider upgrading to iOS 11 to receive the latest security patches.

Security Alert: RDP Attacks Just letting you know that we are seeing a high number RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) attacks. Generally, these attacks are targeting Microsoft Windows-based servers, where port 3389 has been left open. The perpetrator scans for this open port, and then uses a large password dictionary to hack into the server. Once the password is found, the perpetrator sells this information to other cyber-criminals, who can use your server as a botnet or for other... nefarious purposes; however, in most cases, the attacker steals information on the server, and then installs ransomware. A demand for payment is requested, and since the attacker knows the importance of the data, it is not uncommon to see ransom amounts of $20,000 or more. Not only is the victim locked out of business-critical files, but all information on the server is compromised and sold.
