NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: SEED VIABILITY POLICY The County of Northern Lights will continue investment in the Seed Viability Policy, however, recent changes at SGS Biovision will not allow them to invoice the Producer and County each separately at the existing 50:50 cost share. Therefore, the County will reimburse each producer on the same 50:50 basis upon receiving a copy of the results and invoices. The County requests all Producers to compile current year invoices and limit th...e number of submitted invoices to a few times per year as to not overload our administrative capacity. Reimbursements will only occur for the current year’s testing. If you have any questions or concerns please contact our Agricultural Fieldman, Blake Gaugler, at 780-836-3348.

Things are a little different this year for the Annual Dixonville Light Up! We will be doing a Light Up Bingo in lieu of the regular event! Bingo sheets will be available starting this Friday at the Dixonville General Store and online at www.explorecountyofnorthernlights.com

Notice Residents: The Carcajou Community Water Source (CWS) is down due to mechanical issues for the foreseeable future until repairs are complete. Once the repairs are complete, an update will be posted on the County website and Facebook page. Thank you for your patience.

This past summer, Fusarium graminearum (Fg) was removed as a regulated pest under the Agricultural Pest Act. With a low occurrence of the Fg in the Peace Region, the Agricultural Service Boards would like to get input from Peace Region producers as to how they would like the pest to be monitored, reported on and if applicable, controlled.
